About this listen
Number seven in the entire Amazon store
He’s my best friend’s brother.
My new boss.
And now my fake husband.
Knight Warren. The country’s most sought-after heartthrob, and retired military vet, is my complete opposite. He's grumpy where I’m sunshine. Surly where I’m...happy-go-lucky. He’s the hardened ex-soldier. I’m still trying to find my calling. The only thing we have in common is that we both love his sister...who’s also my best friend. So when she asks me to help Knight find a wife, I can’t say no. Turns out he'll inherit his father’s empire as long as...he gets married within the next month.
I agree to work as his assistant and interview the women who apply for the position. But Knight hates every one of them. With the deadline drawing close, he proposes I marry him. In return, he’ll pay off my debts and take care of my mother’s medical treatment.
Only he has conditions—I need to pretend I belong to him, be in a fake marriage with him...for an entire year! But what happens when the chemistry between us ignites? Forced to live under his roof, I know I’m falling for him. As the days pass, I begin to think he reciprocates my feelings. Until he introduces me to his real wife....
This is a billionaire, forced-proximity, one-bed, boss-employee, fake-relationship, and a best-friend’s-brother novel. It is a complete stand-alone.

Made me laugh
This book had some really fun moments, I laughed out loud several times.
The story was sometimes a little to slow for my taste, but I still enjoyed it alot.
It keeps in with the others in this universe so you know what to expect. I really like that the author uses people with health problems, imperfections and other "flaws" in her stories, it makes them more real to me.
I really liked the narrators, they made a good pair and did an excellent job!

AN EMOTIONAL EYEOPENER
Well recommended. An amazing book - very emotional in parts, it made me cry a few times and think a lot. Very well written, as usual. Thank you L Steele. A great success.

Fantastic performance from Aure Nash
Knight Warren, former marine, hostage and a completely dominant alpha hole hero and Penny Easton, his sister’s best friend, submissive by nature and his new assistant charged with finding him a convenient wife. Now that’s an explosive relationship in the making and The Wrong Wife didn’t disappoint in this sizzling grumpy/sunshine, billionaire romance. There was scorching chemistry and sexual tension galore between the hero and heroine to the extent I almost felt my kindle heat up in my hands as I read. Their relationship veered to the BDSM end of the spectrum but was definitely more of a slowburn albeit with a lot of heavy foreplay. At times I did struggle with these characters. Knight was just nasty to everyone he came into contact with while Penny came across as being a bit of a Pollyanna type, always looking on the bright side but with a bad habit of saying anything that came into her head, no matter how inappropriate. As their relationship developed Knight did begin to change as he opened up to the realisation that he needed help. I did see the twist with him coming but perhaps that was because I’ve recently listened to another audiobook from this author where there were similarities, so it was fresh in my mind.
As usual a stellar performance from Shane East in his portrayal of the arrogant but broken Knight but as much as I loved him, the star of this audiobook must be Aure Nash. For me, her characterisation of Penny was spot on. When I read the book, her character had made me cringe at times with her verbal diarrhoea and Aure, for all she still made her sound annoying, she managed to imbue a sense of vulnerability into her performance of Penny that I hadn’t noticed in my read. I think this must be the first time I’ve changed my opinion of a character because of the narrator.

Fantastic storyline
These characters are so good together. With a massive trauma like what this guy has been through it’s amazing he can love and feel. A brilliant performance.

Spicy and Intense
Knight and Penny's marriage of convenience romance was filled with spice and angst. Knight and Penny had great chemistry, and their attraction was palpable even when they found each other frustrating and insufferable. Knight in Dom mode was hot and intense.
Shane East and Aure Nash's narration brought the story to live.

Wrong Wife
A fantastic story by L. Steele.
Knight and Penny's story is very emotional and steamy.
Especially when Knight opened up about his past.

A Marriage of Convenience
The Wrong Wife by L. Steele is a marriage of convenience story about a tortured veteran, who had just returned from six months as a prisoner of war, and his sister’s best friend. Knight had joined the military because he wanted to make a difference, but after six months of torture he came home rejecting his former values and determined to obtain power by making money. He became CEO of his father’s company, but in order to become Chairman of the Board, his father required that he marry within the month and have a child within the year. Penny was a young woman who was always excited about trying the next thing. Unfortunately, she needed to find a way to pay for her mother’s care in a nursing home, and a job as Knight’s assistant was the way to do it. Before long, Knight decided that Penny was the right candidate for the job of his wife, a position which would pay big dividends. How would Penny soothe this tortured veteran and help him to see that there was more than just sex between them? This is a very spicy novel that follows the author’s pattern of an alphamale character that is deliberately hurtful to the woman in his life in order to deny his own feelings. I get frustrated with how much the women in the author’s books tolerate from the men they love. All in all, it was a good book and the narration was great. I would give this book 3.5 stars and recommend the audiobook to listeners who enjoy spicy books with jerky alphamales. I am voluntarily submitting this honest review after listening to an advanced complementary copy of this audiobook thanks to Valentine PR and Audible Studios.

One Of My Favourite Audiobooks Of All Time!!!
Arc Review For Audiobook Of The Wrong Wife by L.Steele
I am not one for words, like at all, but I love to read and enjoy writing reviews even though I'm terrible at them, keep that in mind when reading my reviews haha.
The book follows Penny an American who lives in London with her roommate. Penny's mom is suffering with dementia, and Penny is struggling to hold down a job that she likes, and one that pays well enough to keep her mom in the care home she currently resides in. Knight is a marine who has decided the military is no longer for him, due to recent trauma when on a mission. Penny is a bubbly, pink, plus size girly with a personality to boot and Knight can't get her off his mind.
My Review:
Firstly can we just have an around of applause for Aure Nash and Shane East!! They narrated the heck out of this book and I'm obsessed!!! the narrators were so perfectly cast I couldn't pick anyone better. Aure narrated Penny so amazingly, I have no words. She had me cracking up from the first page, I wanted to hide under my blankets from the second hand embrassement I got from Penny's antics. Haha I've never known a character to word vomit like her.
I really enjoyed the character development of Knight. Seeing him start from Mr Serious to become the grumpy heart throb he grows to be.
Knight went through so much on his last mission, no one can blame him for how he was when he returned, but Penny was able to weasel in and help him through his trauma.
Not going to lie Penny stressed me out throughout this book due the choices she made, Lmao the girl was a mess and didn't make the best choices and Knight decided she was longer going to make any haha.
The end actually made me tear up because I really didn't see it coming and it made me love Knight even more!!!! (urghh!! the bench scene)
What didn't you like?
My only criticism would be the use of the word "Sir". Like I get why it was used and in the bedroom yasss I'm all for it but after a while it got to be a little to much.
Other wise, honestly there isn't anything else I'd change about this book. I had so much fun listening and reading and I HIGHLY recommend the audiobook to those of you who listen to them because this definitely has to be in my top 10 of favourite narrated books.
Also for the smut readers out there, I'm not joking when I say this one is for YOU!! The smut was eliteeee!! and both narrators did a fab job! Fully had me blushing!
4/5 Stars!!
