About this listen
The financial crisis was no doubt a recession, and some would say a depression; everyone wants to sugarcoat it. Academics want to nitpick and perform magic tricks with the numbers and say it was only a recession. The reality is, no one has seen this before. It was clear, the game had changed. The old definition of what a recession was is no longer sufficient to express what happened. But yet, nothing has really changed. Proof of this can be seen in how the financial world has handled the crisis. The same old theories from the ivory tower are still in place. But for the first time, in a major way, the theories aren't working anymore and people are noticing. The black hole is still there, and money is being thrown into it. A black hole gets larger as it is filled. It's not over, not by a long shot.
In this book, we will cover, ever so briefly, the US financial crisis of 2008.
