Summary
Who wants to take a road trip with two old, bickering women and a complete stranger? Not Jill Savoy. She finds herself behind the wheel of her father's sacred Winnebago anyway, responsible for her grandmother and adopted aunt, both of whom are mischievous teenagers in old bodies, and then there's Shay.
The last thing on Shay Macaluso's mind was a vacation. Fresh out of a relationship, she was looking forward to beginning her new life, but her aunt Chloe took the proverbial monkey wrench to her plans. Duped into taking the trip, Shay feels like her new life is on hold, but as the adventure unfolds she realizes that she's on the highway to something extraordinary.

Too funny for words.
The Trip was the first Robin Alexander book I read and it remains my hands down favourite. How can I explain the genius of RA? I can't. Do yourself a favour and immerse yourself in her world of well rounded characters, bizzarre situations, sweet romance and laugh out loud FUNNY. I'm smiling as I write this review. BUY THE BOOK! You won't be disappointed.

Delightfully different
Away from the more usual tropes we discover a story with deliciously quirky lovable characters. We also find that age need be no barrier to having fun, all of which makes for a laugh out loud really enjoyable book. Congratulations and thanks to both the author and of course to the consistently good narration by Abby Craden,

hilarious
while this is a low angst romance, the comedic duo of Anna and Ella steal the show, I had family rushing into my room checking I was ok the hilarious antics and words making me laugh so much, great writing and I'd love them to have a book of thier own plus chloe, abby craden gives an excellent performance outside her usual work with 4 or more characters talking almost at once, thankyou Robin really enjoyed.

Robin as done it again. Brilliant.
Another Robin Alexander masterpiece. I was crying laughing and loved every character. Imagine taking a trip with progessive olderly ladies that have z dry wit & never get boring. The only negative is having to wait for Robins next book. If you want a fun very low angst book, you can't go wrong with this book. I hope Audible put all of Robin Alexander pas book onto Audiobook.

Caution … maybe
Listening to this book in public can become embarrassing as it frequently causes uncontrollable laughter and, as I can tell you from experience, that does tend to draw curious looks. I decided this book was too good to care.

Disappointed
I love this authors work and I’ve honestly never laughed or cried so much at some of their other books. This one felt as though there was something missing unfortunately. I think the dramatic tension just wasn’t there, and the scenes were just a continuous loop of jokes that started to feel repetitive. It’s the first of this writers books that I felt I could listen to without being fully present. A bit like a tv show that you play in the background but you’ve not missed anything when you start paying attention again. The narrator did a great job, but if the story isn’t strong enough their narration won’t be able to carry it.
