About this listen
Alas...the good old days are gone. But not in our hearts - or our memories. That's the amazing thing about the human brain; it has this neat little “memory palace”, where can store all of our most favorite memories - and the palace has this neat little lock on the door that only WE can open. And inside that palace...oh, what memories! Our first true {puppy} love; our first kiss; the first time and last time the neighorbhood kids, of all different backgrounds and skin color, all equal in our eyes played together every day after school, riding our bikes and playing stick ball in the streets and watched the sun go down together at dusk, huddled close together as the magnificent light show in the sky promised another great day tomorrow.
Back then, it was so simple and fun to grow up. So much more normal. We didn't need the internet or cell phones or tablets or computers or apps to have a great time; all we had to do was make some phone calls and make some plans and meet up in person, and let the day lead us wherever it may. Back then, social networking meant just that; having a great time, in person, making some great memories. To store in our own little memory palace, to keep forever.
This book is filled with my own special memories I want to share with you, because I am sure it will elicit a memory for you, too. Whether it be a good memory or a sad one, it was all part of growing up here in Vincennes, and should be cherished now, while we all still have the chance to do so. So...here is The Time of Our Lives: Growing up Cool in Vincennes, Indiana for your listening pleasure. I hope you will find a story within in this audio to tuck away in your own little memory palace, too.
