About this listen

Fi has always known there's something not quite right about herself.

Not quite human.

For as long as she can remember, Fi has been sensitive to other people's emotions. So sensitive, she works a night job as a cleaner to avoid being overwhelmed by all of their feelings.

After a night on the town goes wrong, Fi comes to the attention of the Academy of Avalon. The obscenely beautiful jerk of a man who comes to collect her confirms her suspicions - Fi isn't human at all.

But all is not as it seems in Avalon. Magic is dying, those who have it are hunted, and at least one person really doesn't want Fi there.

Fi also has to figure out how to deal with the insane magnetic pull she feels to some of the most gorgeous and magically powerful males at the academy. What's a little boy-drama on top of an identity crisis?

Contains mature themes.

Intriguing

I loved this author’s Three Bears duet, so thought it was worth trying this trilogy. It’s not quite as gripping as the others, but I really liked it! I’m new to this RH business and I see the appeal, haha. Pretty good world-building, good amount of drama and steaminess. The narrators are so-so; I wonder if this would be better as an ebook…

Excellent story

Highly recommend to any fans of fantasy and/or RH. This was a wonderful story with well-developed characters, an engaging storyline and fantastic romance. Also absolutely loved the narration. Can’t wait to listen to book two!

A decent fantasy romance

Neither writing style nor performance was amazing, but completely ok. Since this is currently included in plus, I recommend that you give this audiobook a chance and decide for yourself if you enjoy it or not.

The writing style is very repetitive (yes, that lady is 400 years old, we get it already!) and our FMC seems to go through the same problems over and over and over again without learning much from her mistakes. We have a very very vague back story for our main characters, but not much of one. Somehow, this feels like the abridged version of the book rather than the actual full book since there are so many characters but I'm not really sure if there's an actual plot or not beyond our FMC collecting men.

The performance was decent, but not much more. Amy Alan and Shaun Grindell did not make me go WOW, but nothing made me wince overly often either.

This does end on a cliffhanger, but I'm not sure if I'll use a credit for the next book or not. Maybe in the future.
