Clever story but was confusing
There are different stories all intertwined becoming clearer as time goes by and also a fictional story also. in a sense joining them together. but I certainly got confused. Jodi Picolt seems to enjoy. telling stories. around moral dilemmas with no answers only questions so the strange thing to me was the main character's moral dilemma concerning herself from her action in the past and seemingly unaware. I had wondered about the ending turning out so...

Non stop listen
Tough historic facts which were sad to read, sad historic facts, enveloped in 2 romantic stories. First few chapters difficult to understand where it all fitted in but opened up and all joined together.

Superb
This is equally brilliant and sad . A torrid recount of the holocaust. I would definitely recommend.

Brilliant cast
A strong story of the resilience of hope, healing in putting words to grief and the freedom of forgiveness in the midst of unspeakable horror and the darkest of evil.

Very powerful and well researched
I almost didn't finish this book a few times owing to me being a bit confused as to which story I was listening to. It all made sense in the end. It is very long and one needs to concentrate. It was quite depressing at times too. There were lighter moments - but the grandmother-her story and narration were exceptional.

A great....
storyline with some lovely characters and antics within the book. The narrators were very good at using different voices for the characters.

Engrossing storyline
Enjoyed the narration. Storyline can be gruelling but gives further insight into chapter of history - albeit fictionalised

What a journey!
Jodi Picoult delivers again. Weaving story within story within story - what a genius. Brilliantly researched and written, digging deep into psyches of her characters and tackling one of the most abhorrent times in history with unusual compassion.
