About this listen
What are the odds that the stranger sitting next to you on a plane is destined to change your life? Especially when they appear to be your opposite in every way…
The perfect read for fans of Ruth Jones, Jane Green and Sheila O'Flanagan, from the Sunday Times bestselling author of Just My Luck and Both Of You…
Jo is a hopeless romantic. Worried she let her soulmate slip away, she's chasing her past all the way to Chicago to break up her ex-fiancé's wedding.
Dean is a resolute cynic. After a brief (but not brief enough) trip to London, he's returning to Chicago, where he moved to escape his dysfunctional past.
In the time it takes to fly from London to Chicago, each finds something in the other that they didn't even realise they needed.
But it's only when they get off the plane that their true journey begins…
‘Brilliantly twisty… but is also so insightful about human nature. A triumph’ Lucy Foley
‘Chilling, gripping and entirely unputdownable’ Lisa Jewell
‘Kept me guessing and had me gasping at the twist’ Ian Rankin
‘Ambitious, nail-biting, darkly voyeuristic – I tore through it in two sittings' Louise Candlish
‘Addictive, provocative and thoroughly relatable’ T.M. Logan
‘An absolute joy: gripping, shocking and surprising’ Jane Fallon

What a ride!
One of the most entertaining books from Adel. From laugh out loud moments to a very bitter sweet ending. Highly recommend if your heading to middle age and battling the dating scene. I guarantee you are going to find the characters very relatable.

Very different to her usual books but loved it!
The story was very clever and the ending unexpected. The narration was done very well. I loved the characters and enjoyed the story immensely!

Loved this
I really enjoyed this book, great story and good narration. Only slightly annoyed by some sloppy editing, with occasional duplication including chapter 39 (Dean) which crops up twice! But otherwise I highly recommend

Really enjoyed this book. Lovely story with great characters and well read on Audible. Good to hear a man’s voice read the male parts for a change

Not a comfortable listen but some wisdom
I nearly returned this but kept powering through hopeful of a more interesting turn of events. Michael Fox at 1.00 speed sounded spaced out, a bit like Jack Dee, but the female narrator was fine so I couldn’t set a different pace. Really Jo Russell was a pain although perhaps more accessible and believable for a younger readership than mine. Her personality was initially just plain irritating and spoilt. She didn’t deserve Dean. He was so much more adult even with his grudges and issues. The person I most emphasised with was Clara do I got something out of it all. I would not recommend this to anyone who hadn’t enjoyed Adele P’s earlier books which I had so have her more rope/ leeway and made it to the twist at the end which by the way I didn’t see coming as Dean didn’t either… I was more imagining parentage problems.
