Eli and Whit are enjoying their life together on the mountain when Whit is called into action for a secret mission at the Pentagon. While she is gone, the Cast Iron Farm comes to life, literally, when Eli discovers a mysterious cave that has a connection to Whit’s past. Younger brother Brad joins the gang. Gentle series........

'Cast iron Farm' , is a gentle series full of love, laughter and a growing ethereal mystery to boot !
The author has given us a mix of 'little House on the Prairie' , Swallows and Amazons' and all those other 'feel good' books we grew up loving !
The only downside for me is the voice given to Whit, it's just not right and nothing like her description. The narrator has made her sound like she has a permanent sore throat with nothing feminine in there ! listeners need a correlation between the characters description and his/her voice to build that 'minds eye' picture we see when listening.
I enjoy the series so far and am just about to purchase book 3 in the series !

wholesome

family life on cast iron farm continues with both nephews now as guests, whit has work with the government, while eli plants her first veg garden, with all working together the farm develops and more locals join the family cookouts
low angst rural town life, a happy feelgood story with cookery lessons, like an episode of the Waltons, respect and good manners,
a few adventures into forest and caves add a little excitement
