Great course!

I sincerely appreciated this course with its thorough explanations and a lot of detail. Sometimes I couldn't be sure what the title of the lecture was as it got sometimes very broad, but still i enjoyed it very much.

comprehensive at the right level

Great introduction to several topics related to energy. He covered major technologies, potential future tech, relation to politics, policies, human thinking.. yeah, this was broad and not too shallow. I loved some of the counterintuitive energy efficiency figures: fascinating stuff!

Very interesting and thought provoking

This was well explained. The explanation starts off at a basic level, but later goes into great detail. This has helped me understand the scientific process of different energy sources and the aspects that are considered when deciding what to use at national levels. For a person who likes science and economics, this book was very interesting and thought provoking. In the end the talk about future technologies was also very mesmerising. The voice was very clear and best part was the book was very unbiased.

Fact heavy analysis brilliantly structured

An excellent overview of energy - as a builder it has become clear to me that building technology has been inaccurately surviving by burning energy intense fossil fuels. The challenge ahead needs to look at energy efficient buildings from first principles - if you want to know what we do (and more importantly don't) know about energy this is a great place to start. Well done Mr Wysession for making a dry subject so listenable.

Very informative

Somewhat out of date - written about 7 years ago. A lot of progress has occurred in various areas discussed since. The electric car penetration is just one.
A more updated version of this would be very interesting but overall excellent & very comprehensive & informative.

Excellent current, broad reference

Where does The Science of Energy rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Amongst the top 5

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Science of Energy?

The early chapter's explanation of energy density

Any additional comments?

This has been been a good study companion for fundamental concepts of energy issues. The best thing about it is that it's up-to-date; listened to in 2016 there'll be something of interest for all but the most informed. It's politically neutral too, even acknowledges China's advances in energy. There are plenty of concepts that are explained in accessible practical examples.

Brilliant summary. Lightly touches many many topics in these lectures

Here a great many of energy technologies are discussed. These are not discussed in much detail, but not can they be for a lecture series of this length. Overall very good at giving an overview in the different energy sources, a plethora of choices
