About this listen
Postnatal psychosis strips Colette of her early time with her baby, shreds her sanity, and almost destroys her marriage. When suicide seems the only option, Colette must face her limitations and move forward with demons clinging to every aspect of her life, whilst desperately trying to hold on to what she dearly loves.

Loved it, I couldn't stop shouting at the characters!
Really enjoyed this Novel, I loved the suspense, the way it flowed the imagery. Fantastic!

Couldn't stop listening
I have always enjoyed Hemmie Martin's books but it took me a while to get to this one to be honest, as I'm not a parent I wasn't sure if I would really connect with the book. I am happy to say I was mistaken. The characters are so perfectly written and utterly gripping, in fact I listened to the audio book it just 2 days. They are all so believable, imperfect characters making imperfect choices in a unknown world (although I still wanted to yell at them all!). The book is written from both the viewpoint of the new mother and the new father, which was a brilliant decision by the writer. Seeing from the inside out and visa versa gave the listener/reader a more complete experience of the situation. I found it really heart warming that Collette, the one perceived with having all the problems, was the one who emerged as the strongest. The book seems to say mental health issues can be ugly but they won't last. However reactions to those times will never be forgotten and possibly not forgiven either!
The book was perfectly read by marie-pierre, who does a wonderful job of narrating both Collette and Finn. The subtle changes in her voice really suit each character in the book as well as the tempo and tone.
