Summary

He is only in his early 30s, but now Quinn Colson is jobless - voted out of office as sheriff, thanks to county kingpin Johnny Stagg. He has offers from bigger and better places, but before he goes, he's got one more job to do - bring down Stagg's criminal operations. At least that's the plan....

Ace Atkins at his worst

The first few books in this story were not too bad but this one is appalling. The two redneck robber characters CONSTANT references to female anatomy is really grating, it's every other line, and very juvenile. I'm starting to believe that Ace Atkins is a misogynist and have decided to make this the last book of his I ever listen to. The story is pathetic and not worth bothering waiting for the end.

The narration is all over the place, you can tell where the "session" ends and is started again, and where the voiceover parts are.
The narrator seems to keep forgetting what voice he's using for who and I'm surprised it got past editing.

Ace Atkins continued on the Spenser Series after Robert B Parker died, and I thought he was a better writer than this.

RBP would be spinning in his grave.

Don't waste your credit on this piece of cr*p book, especially if you're a woman.
