About this listen
When an ex-boyfriend turns Jayne’s night out into a living hell, he has no choice but to make a deal with two hot, hunky, would-be bodyguards. The promise? If they can get him out unscathed, Jayne will do anything they want…
Sarcastic, snarky, and totally fabulous, when single dad and bioethicist Jayne is cornered by his abusive ex-boyfriend on a night out, he comes up with an escape plan on the fly - find the biggest, strongest, and thirstiest man in the club, and seduce him into giving Jayne safe passage home. Easy. Over the last few years, in a bid to mask the pain of loss, Jayne’s bedded more men who fit that description than he can count, and he knows he won’t have any trouble bagging one tonight.
Until one becomes two, and suddenly, nothing’s so certain anymore.

Bring on the glitter
This is one of my favorite stories in this series. Love how fierce Jane is and how sweet Caleb and Everett are- with a lort of humor all throughout.
The narration was spot on, the voices dit really well with the characters. I especially love the chat and Parker narration, epic.

A Lovely Romance
The Promise is the fifth book in the Single Dad Support Group series, a contemporary, omegaverse romance. The book does feature a poly relationship (m/m/m) so if that is not your cup of tea then move on. I absolutely love this series and was incredibly excited for this next installment.
This book deals with some heavy issues revolving around an obsessive and dangerous ex-boyfriend turned stalker, and the trauma and healing that comes from escaping an abusive relationship. Each of the three men in this relationship will have to face their own insecurities and work through these issues, both as individuals and together, before they can find their happy ever after. The romance was sweet with a lot of humor, sass, and incredibly hot sex scenes. I also really enjoyed the edge of danger that was threaded throughout the plot as the stalker became more and more obsessed. Overall, this was a wonderful read.
The audiobook was narrated by Michael Ferraiuolo who did a great job with the narration. Michael has narrated the previous books in this series and has a done a wonderful job making sure to keep the voices of the characters pretty consistent throughout the series. I had no trouble identifying each character throughout the narration and found it pretty easy to follow along in the story. Michael also did a great job with the performance and put just the right amount of flair and energy into the book without making it over the top. The audiobook production was well done and made for an enjoyable listening experience.

Enjoyable (but long) listen
The Single Dad Support Group series is terrific and having Michael Ferraioulo narrate is an added bonus. He is amazing at whatever he narrates. Here, I was particularly impressed with the distinction between Jayne, Everett and Caleb. Listening to Caleb’s voice, it’s hard to even realize it’s the same narrator speaking. Michael Ferraioulo has a precision to his speech that at times seemed a bit of a mismatch to the events he was narrating, but the spoken dialogue was always spot on. This is a behemoth of an audiobook - 15+hours so I had to listen to it in parts, but it doesn’t disrupt the flow of the story. Overall, it’s a great audiobook and despite the slow pace, it’s definitely a value-add to the book.

Jayne, Everett and Caleb
Jayne aka Glitter dad in the support group, needs help he picks a couple of men who resemble Bodyguards to help him get away from his EX. Things escalate and Jayne, his brother and son and up staying with Everett and Caleb when their place is burnt down, the dynamic between the 3 is super hot. LOVE this series and narration

Great story with lots of heart and plenty of laughs
I love this story so much and it's even better in audio. After meeting Jayne in the previous book, I definitely wanted his story, and I love that he got his HEA with Everrett and Caleb. This was a truly well written MMM relationship, and even though two of the people involved were already in a relationship, it never felt off balanced. I loved seeing familiar faces from past books and past series, this is probably best enjoyed if you've read all the previous SDSG books as will as the His Command Series (although the His Command series is definitely not necessary). All around a good story with lots of heart and plenty of laugh out loud moments, done perfectly by Michael Ferruiolo's amazing narration!

Single Dads are a riot!
Prepare yourself for Jayne-no, seriously! Jayne aka GlitterDoctor's story is not for the faint of heart. This book is second favorite in the series! Scott's ability to keep the reader engaged is truly a gift. Ferraiuolo's narration leaves me laughing so hard that I did require some tissue. Not a book to be missed for sure.

Loved it
I love this series so much. It's funny with the Single Dad chats, it's serious where it needs to be, and the love between the characters is so genuine. Michael Ferraiuolo is a narrator with a brilliant voice. Not only can he make a diverse cast of characters distinguishable, but he's also able to put all the emotions in the books. I am sad that this series is coming to a close in the next book, but I cannot wait to listen to what happens next.

Love the SDSG books!
I got a bit overwhelmed with this book/audio, it's 15 hours!
As much as I wanted this book, I couldn't pay attention for all 15 hours, so I really need to re-listen this again.
The story is good, Glit aka Jayne was the last I haven't read yet, and I was curious about his book. I didn't know he will end up with two men! WOW!
The audio was amazing too, it's nothing new, I love Michael Ferraiuolo's voice, and I love who he makes all the SDSG characters. So so good! TD is still hilarious, I love the SDSG group chats, those are my favorites!
So I loved it -when I actually paid attention and knew what was happening - but I'm sure that second time it will be better.

Another great match
I love this series and while I'm totally itching for Knot's story, I really enjoyed Jayne's. While a bit longer and complex than the previous stories, with a dangerous ex and a unique relationship this was a challenging story. I loved Everett and Caleb and they were so great together and I loved that Jayne perfectly slotted into their world and completed them as a couple. I do feel for Shep and his teen angst, I hope he finds his HEA at some point and I feel for Knot. I can't wait for his story up next!
