About this listen

An Amazon Charts bestseller.

She’s a total stranger. But she knows who you are...

Suzi did a bad thing. She’s paying for it now, pregnant, scared, and living in an isolated cottage with her jealous husband, Nick.

When Nora moves into the only house nearby, Suzi is delighted to have a friend. So much so that she’s almost tempted to tell Nora her terrible secret. But there’s more to Nora than meets the eye. It’s impossible - does she already know what Suzi did?

Meanwhile, Elle spends her days in her perfect home, fixated on keeping up appearances. But when her husband betrays her, it unravels a secret going all the way back to her childhood. She’ll do whatever it takes to hold on to him, even if that means murder. After all, she’s done it before...

Caught up in their own secrets and lies, these strangers will soon realise they have more in common than they could ever have imagined. When a shocking event brings them together, their lives will never be the same again.

You need to stretch belief

This book started off ok and with a good premise. However, it became slightly unbelievable in the middle and became progressively worse. Plus the Narrator had an annoying habit of emphasising the end of sentences. ok but a bit too far fetched and a more in depth ending would have been good.

Fairly Decent

The story keeps you on your toes but not enough that the twists shock you. At least for me I was able to see roughly where this book was going; not from the beginning which is why it keeps you guessing a touch. The characters were interesting but not as complex as they possibly needed to be. I feel there should be more to the story (some things left unexplained) but overall I did enjoy it.

Can be a lifesaving book, literally.

Has some stupid things, like a doctor getting involved with the private life of a woman who is not even her patient and a few more, including how can someone go away with so many murders? It's just not possible without leaving a clue.

The Narrator did a great job I'd say. The voices of different characters were distinct enough to tell them apart and she did a great job delivering the tone of stupidity and confusion Souzan had. I felt like I was Souzan so many times.

This book can be a total lifesaver. An information booklet for a woman going through emotional abuse, mainly ones that are being gaslit by their partners. I was wondering what's wrong with Souzan's husband, why can't she reciprocate his devoted love for her until the author deciphered his every move and described what he really was. Souzan herself was too innocent or just plain stupid to realise it until it was too late . A woman going through such abuse will do great listening to this book because with such a man around her, reading a leaflet or listening to something about emotional abuse and gaslighting won't be a sensible thing to do. This book is an information leaflet in disguise. Atleast, it was for me. Completely applaud the author for this disguise although I understand that it might not have been her intention.

The ending wasn't bad. I actually enjoyed listening to this. Kept me hooked. It'll be worth your credit if you can make room for some stupid things that aren't possible in real life (Such as just showing up to a hospital without an appointment and getting the opportunity to have a private conversation with a doctor. What's more, catching a glance of his email inbox lol. Doesn't ruin the book, helps to evolve the story and propel it forward so just bear with it.

Kept me on the edge of my seat

I loved this easy to follow story but it did keep me transfixed at times, I listen whilst I'm baking or doing the housework and like something that keeps me riveted but not to the point of having to sit and concentrate. This novel hit that spot... Easy to follow but interesting and intriguing too. Great story
