Sherlock Holmes is dead--or so most of the world thinks. His fatal plunge over the Reichenbach Falls as he struggled with his archenemy, Moriarty, has been widely reported. Splendid
I enjoyed this book very much, especially as I have travelled to many of the destinations.
Simon Prebble is one of my many favourite narrators.
I look forward to listening to any other Sherlock Holmes books by Ted Riccardi.

Great Read
I am a great lover of Sherlock Holmes and read / listen to all that I can get my hands on. I have thoroughly enjoyed these tales of the 'missing years'. Interesting and fun to listen to the antics of Sherlock and discover how he honed his skills. Part of the Plus Catalogue and much better than many audio books that I have spent credits on.

Great narration
Good stories slightly let down by mysticism. Think Sherlock in an Indiana Jones setting.

Sherlock purists won’t enjoy this book
I am not a purist, but when (as another reviewer says) changing your appearance by yoga, comes into the story, I start to lose interest.
Good thing I could listen to Simon Prebble read anything, I finished the book purely down to his narration.

Interesting but missing something
An interesting story of the years where he was “dead”. It lacked the pure reasoning and intelligence and did not sit right. Too much luck was involved in his escapades and victories. The research of the places mentioned was interesting, If you took it as just an adventure story it was quite good but just not Holmes.

...3 tales in was enough for me.
If imitation is the best form of flattery - this book gives lie to that old chestnut!

Good narrator voice but pretty crappy stories. ...
changing appearances by yoga?! there are many writers doing stuff in the Sherlock world with more style and content than this.
