Very approachable guide to use Montessori principles at home

If you only read one book about Montessori, it should be this one. Very engaging and makes sense.

Very clearly explains what Montessori approach is

As a father, reading this book really helped me to understand my toddler better and enjoy them more as a human being. Toddlers are often labeled as "terrible two" and this book helped me to enjoy their company much more. It starts by explaining how toddlers think and it helped me to see their perspective better and not get annoyed. I introduced some principles from the book and it is really funny but it works. Funny because we always had loads of activities at home and she rarely played with them. Turned out that the activities and toys have to be "prepared". I "prepared" the room after reading the chapter and magic, the toddler has woken up and jumped to solve all of them one by one and didn't want to have breakfast until she solved all of them she was so focused. It was very amusing.

Very useful and a great book if interested in mindful parenting and Montessori of course

I am a new parent and have been drawn toward Montessori. The approach really resonates with my instincts towards my child and it really questions some of the traditional maybe less mindful ways of parenting. Highly recommend it!

Great starting point

I’m aware of the theory of Montessori on an introductory level but this book goes into a lot of detail. Found it easy to understand and the NO PRESSURE approach is a god send if, like me, you get overwhelmed easily with advice coming from all different sources. The overall ethos is do what you can, we make mistakes but can repair, be kind to yourself and importantly set up steps around your home so you can’t fail in those easy to fail moments (clean nickers near the loo and house rules ok the wall to refer your children to in those distressing moments - even if they can’t read). Very good book.
