Summary

The Making of Meredith

On the surface, John Meredith appears to have it all. He’s blessed with good looks and a successful police career, and he’s never short of female attention.

But is everything as it seems? What lies beneath the smooth, confident exterior? Is he a man who has simply plastered over the cracks of a dysfunctional childhood, betrayals, and heartbreak? Can he allow anyone close or will they see the joins and the damaged person that he really is?

The Making of Meredith explores not only what made the man but also how his past could destroy his future.

Although not a detective novel, this is a prequel to the Meredith & Hodge series, and a must listen for all Meredith & Hodge fans.

An excellent prequel

If you've read/listened to previous Meredith and Hodge novels this is a prequel. Simply, how Meredith got where he is now. Answers questions you've had at the back of your mind. Well worth a listen and if you've not come across Meredith before, you will be downloading them all!

A must read for all who love John Meredith

Well this explains a lot. Everything about Meredith, who he is and why he is like he is, is all made clear. In chronological order this will make you love him more as you learn about his childhood and adolescence. I loved this book and it’s attention to detail. Marcia Turner tugs at the heartstrings again and again and I couldn’t put it down. Well written and of course well narrated yet again. One of my favourite series, I cannot recommend these books enough.

A brilliant insight into Meredith

As a huge fan of the Meredith & Hodge series I've been looking forward to the audio version of this book to be released for a while. While waiting I've wondered what secrets it might hold about why Meredith is the way he is, what made him that way. Well, this book certain reveals a lot about John Meredith, right from his early childhood, through school, college, and eventually into the police force.

Lots of laugh out loud moments and plenty of more serious, less cheerful ones as his background is revealed. I loved it.

As usual Lee Beddow brings the characters to life and keeps the story flowing perfectly.

I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author at my request and am voluntarily writing an honest and unbiased review.
