About this listen
Tamar went on to train the dogs of many celebrities, including Oprah Winfrey, Ben Affleck, Courteney Cox- Arquette, Nicollette Sheridan, Owen Wilson, the Osbournes, and others. Her nonaggressive methods are so revolutionary that the Humane Society of the United States approached her to be a consultant, and she now teaches animal behavior at Pepperdine University.
In The Loved Dog, Tamar shows anyone how to childproof a dog, teach him vocabulary, use treats the right way, play "tug of war" to build trust, make it fun for him to come when called, teach him not to jump on people, and much more, using only playful bonding and positive reinforcement.

Some good information but very irritating.
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No, i think there are better books that are more straight to the point, while the ideas in this are good overall, they are not presented well.
Would you ever listen to anything by Tamar Geller and Andrea Cagan again?
Probably not, it was very self indulgent with long passages dedicated to the authors life experiences and of no value to a reader. I got the reason why she was telling the stories eventually, but they could have been summarised to a much shorter section and still have the same effect.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Renée Raudman?
The narration was ok. I've heard better bit ive also heard worse
Was The Loved Dog worth the listening time?
Eventually there was lots of good information in the book so yes. But it does require you to spend lots of time listening to the authors life story and name dropping before it gets to the useful bits.
Any additional comments?
It's a shame because this book could have been very good. The techniques and information is fantastic. But it's all ruined by stories that are far too long and inappropriate.

enjoyable and it works
this was very enjoyable- both in terms of the content and the narrator's style.
I've read lots of dog training books and there was lots in this that i hadn't thought of. Tamar is clearly gifted.
