About this listen

This is the magic story of "The Little Prince" told in rhymes for your delight. Enjoy the listening!

"The Little Prince" encourages us to view things from a different way. It teaches us how to look beneath the top layer of a situation and see beyond it. The Little Prince learns how to see things with his heart and to feel things with his emotions, rather than simply with his eyes and head.

He does not think his rose is special anymore, because there are more just like her. He learns from the fox that she is special because she is his rose. He has looked after her and only her. She loves him, and only him. This makes her different and unique to him. He has tamed the rose and is now responsible for her.

The railway worker tries to explain that adults do not look with their "real" eyes anymore; they do not have the time to really look around them and see the beauty in the simple things in life like the view from the train. Children have the capability to do this.

"The Little Prince" teaches us that through being so caught up in our wealth and greed, we manage to miss the important things in life. All of our time is taken with counting our wealth that we do not spend our money on those that matter most to us.

It also points out that "cushions" in life such as alcohol only make the problem temporarily better. The issue is inside the person still and needs addressing, the alcohol only masks the problem.
