About this listen
Molly's dad is a practical joker, a proper wind-up merchant. His sense of humor holds no bounds, and when what he thinks is a trick at his expense backfires, he is left feeling a little unusual. His silliness stoops to new and more juvenile levels, but strangely, he has no memory of his bad behavior.
Things go from silly to serious when these events turn into regular blackouts, and Molly's dad reveals secrets from his past that may have implications on his present day mental health.
With his family and friends trying to support him and come to terms with living with someone who may have a dissociative identity, or multiple personality disorder, it's only his daughter Molly who wonders if there is more to his illness than the psychiatric team can deal with.

what a fantastic first book!
Heartbreaking horror infused with a much needed dose of comedy.
This is told from the point of view of Molly, an precocious 8 nearly 9-year-old girl having to do with the anguish and confusion of the sudden onset of the beginnings of mental health difficulties in her father Wayne. This is so well done in this. There is such understanding and caring in this family as they struggle with an alter called Kelly who is an 6-year-old naughty little girl. The friends of the family are also Molly's godparents, Fay and Sydney. Their daughter Charlotte is older than Molly but seems to be her closest friend and baby sitter. Everyone seems to just take this illness in their stride and are loving and supporting to Wayne while trying to navigate the difficulties caused by an adult man suddenly turning into a 6-year-old little girl. Given the title though, things are not as they seem and it went in a direction that was hinted at. The twist was also heartbreaking. This was an really intriguing and enjoyable read and unfortunately I read it way too fast and was left wanting more from this author. I look forward to reading more of their works and I'm hoping that they publish more.

still a favourite
little bit different than reading then the book but difinatley want more audible!
to hear the characters voices portrayed it quite an experience and bring them more relateable. the
narrator uses different tones of voice to easily identify the characters but a high pitched tone for frusttation or anger .(personal opinion) slightly grating . she does at nice pace reads where its not too fast you can't understand.
story line handle really well the issue of mental illness, ouija use, murder etc and sensitively like i said before. follow molly and her dad being newly diagnosed with a mental illness.slightly comedic with Mr biggles scene or when dad changes and get up to antics.its rude as I farting and odd inconsiderate word but this is what's makes it charming and unusual
