How far would you go to make all your dreams come true?
Amber Patterson is tired of being a nobody: an invisible woman who melts into the background. She deserves more. She deserves a life of wealth, luxury and leisure.
Daphne Parrish is the golden girl of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut. With her model looks, her picture-perfect mansion and her millionaire husband, Jackson, she has everything Amber wants.
Amber’s envy could eat her alive—if she didn't have a plan. Before long, she has become Daphne’s closest friend, and is catching the eye of Jackson. But a skeleton from her past could destroy everything, and if discovered, Amber’s well-laid plan may end in disaster…

It's good!
I felt that the story itself was good, I liked that the first half, or rather most the book, was written mostly from the 'villains' side.
I knocked off one star only because I felt that a lot of the first half of the book could have been summarised, there seemed to be a lot of information that wasn't necessary. Other than that I felt that it was a really good story, I'd say more but I dont want to give spoilers.

great!
a really good book! split down into 3 parts, each part told so very well.
part 1 Amber, young, forceful, determined, going after what she wants without a care to anyone around. you get a real sense of desire from her. she wants Jackson and will stop at nothing to get him.
part 2 Daphne, the wife, the real story, the sense of betrayal, the abuse, the life with Jackson.
part 3. summation. the coming together of all elements. this is such a good psychological thriller. an awful story of abuse, of mistrust and betrayal. yet it's told so.well, sympathetically and caring. the ending whilst not unexpected was different enough to be exciting.
overall I loved this book. the audio was very well done. the narrator's voices were definitely a contribution to the telling of the story.

Enjoyable but a little repetitive
An enjoyable plot that kept me entertained during my commute to work for a couple of days. None of the characters were likable, and the repetition of some plot points became quite irritating, but overall it was a fun listen.

Suspenseful and exciting. Very well written and I loved the two viewpoints. one of the nastiest characters I've read.

Brilliant
I realised early on what was going on between Daphne, Jackson and Amber but it didn’t take away from the story. Rather the opposite. I couldn’t stop listening and got through the book far too quickly.

An easy listen with an awful main character
This took a while to get into, but was enjoyable when I had. I also found the voices a bit grating at first, but adjusted after a while. The main reason I struggled to get into it is that Amber is just such an awful person. It was difficult to listen to a character who was just so horrid. I had no empathy towards her and this made it difficult to listen to as I just didn't care about her at all.
I saw the twist coming, which isn't something I normally see, and anticipated what would happen by the end of the book about a third of the way in. I still enjoyed it though so am glad I didn't give up.
