Paws for thought.
A sorry tail told from a dogs perspective.
Prince is the loyal Labrador of the Hunter family, who lives by the Labrador code. This code is to look after their family forsaking all others, which Prince does, however not always understanding the bigger picture.
It is a sad sorry, but equally uplifting in moments and has made me look at my Labrador collie cross differently.
The book Fluke by James Herbert is also written from a dogs perspective, which I can highly recommend if you want to try anther books like this.

great easy listen from a Springer owner
great story thoroughly enjoyed it and as an companion of 4 springers I thoroughly approve of the Springer rebellion

Funny and sad

Really enjoyed this book. Funny and sad. Brilliantly written and I loved the narration. I couldn’t wait to see what happened..... whilst dreading it at the same time.

A story of what s hidden in families
Matt Haig is one of my faviourite authors and I do love the way his novels are so insightful about the human condition. Personally therefore, I did take a lot from this book (one of his earlier ones) however, there are some very difficult themes explored here and I think it might have been better to have been warned more about that before I listened to it - luckily I do usually listen on my own but this certainly isn't one to have on when children are around.

Matt aces it with the Mutt
Every 'page' of this is thoroughly enjoyable - in fact I'd bet that Matt Haig enjoyed writing this. I love the way he uses the dog characters to slyly raise the tension. I immediately 'fell for' the dog characters which are completely believable, as is their honour and bravery. On the other hand, it's easy to see how the humans are a lost cause, sliding irrevocably from stupidity to more stupidity.
I won't spoil the ending, except to say it's inevitable
I would so love a whole series of stories 'told by dogs' ( and so superbly narrated by one of those rare breeds - a clever human.

My least favourite novel from Matt Haig
Matt Haigs writing is as always superb. This story line though did just not hit me like the others. Ive read most of his books. Maybe this will resonate best with dog owners?
