About this listen
The story of Adam and Eve updated as an elderly couple coping with Alzheimer's disease, alcoholism and poverty. Ever since they were expelled from the garden, they've been condemned to living their mistakes and variations of their lives over and over without end.
Gut-wrenching confessions, misery, and wit coexist in this tale set in a contemporary suburban hoard, where they time-travel back and forth in their lifetimes. But they can't change any of it.
Adam is an alcoholic with diabetes and a cutting sense of black humor that he unleashes on Eve.
Eve has Alzheimer's and wakes up each day not knowing where she is or who she is.
The two of them are trapped in a suburban hoard that's choking them in their home. Poverty has brought them to the edge of survival. They have no electricity, TV, water, bathroom facilities. They are camping in their own home. They live in their memories, in which they bounce around in history.
A mash-up of the Bible, Waiting for Godot, and Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf. Wicked humor and philosophical musings abound.
