Summary
THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME. OR IS THERE?
After an 'incident' one wet Friday night where he is found walking naked through the streets of Cambridge, Professor Andrew Martin is not feeling quite himself. Food sickens him. Clothes confound him. Even his loving wife and teenage son are repulsive to him. He feels lost amongst an alien species and hates everyone on the planet. Everyone, that is, except Newton, and he's a dog. Who is he really? And what could make someone change their mind about the human race . . . ?

Enjoyable
A scewed and funny perspective on humans giving stuff for afterthought, laughter and a great deal of smiling. I enjoyed it, and will definitely listen to more from Matt Haig.
Mark Meadows is a pleasure to listen to, and just nailed it. Greatly narrated.

Loved it
This book is so different to anything I've ever listened to / read before - really gets you thinking about humankind and what we think is normal / unquestionable behaviour
The narrators voice and tone was absolutely spot on - the way he portrayed Andrew Martin was brilliant and had me laughing out loud at times!
Definatley worth purchasing

even better than expected
Reading the mostly glowing reviews I had expected this to be good. But the book exceeded expectation. The perceptive and humanistic approach by the author creates a deeply felt, sympathetic and critical look at ourselves. Dogs come out of it well, too ! The narration was excellent.

Started slow but got there
It started a little slow but it picked up and was quite enjoyable.
The only real issue I had with it was that sometimes when there were soft voices they were less easy to hear. I’ve listened to a lot of audiobooks and not had this in the past.

Great concept and story line
Really enjoyed the humour behind looking at the human race from another perspective and the reflections on the simple meaningful things we do in life but take for granted

Very enjoyable, worth a listen
Some laugh out loud moments, particularly towards the start, generally enjoyable, briefly dips into philosophical, but not too heavy. Excellent narration.
