Summary
The Child of Chaos changed the world. The House of Prophecy could tear it to shreds.
When Lorre fulfilled her destiny, she didn’t expect to survive. In fact, prophecy warns that her continued existence could rip the world apart. However, nothing can deter Galen from trying to coax his mother back home from the Dreaming nor stop the Harbingers of Chaos from trying to transform her into their new goddess.
Searching for the keys to decipher the prophecy leads to the mysterious Home for Wayward Children—but the manor’s dark history and long-hidden secrets unlock Lorre’s immense power and push her to the brink of madness.
Galen, Dantess, and their friends aren’t even sure what side they should be fighting on. Getting his mother back was everything Galen dreamed of, but keeping her alive could doom them all.
The House of Prophecy is the second book in the multiple award-winning YA fantasy series the Chronicles of Chaos. Its tale of inevitable rebellion, immeasurable magic, and imminent divinity is sure to enthrall fans of Rick Riordan, Brandon Sanderson, and George R. R. Martin.

Fantastic Fantasy
I don’t know if it is because Glen Dahlgren is narrating the series he wrote, his own talent at story telling or both that made the audiobook version of The House of Prophecy so captivating. I was hooked right away. The narration is honestly top tier and I enjoyed hearing names and places pronounced by the person who created them!
The story itself is fantastic and really keeps you engaged. There is action and of course fantasy but there is also an importance of family and friendship throughout which I really liked and made it stand out. I love the world that Dahlgren has created and it’s so easy to become fully invested in the world and characters.
If you are a fan of fantasy this is a must read but if you are just entering the genre I think this series is a great place to start. It’s got all the elements of fantasy but done really well. While we do have world building in the series it never feels like it’s just dumped on the reader or thrown in randomly. We learn as we read which is my favourite kind. I can’t wait for the next book!

This is the second book in the Chronicles of Chaos series and I went straight into this having listened to book 1 - The Child Of Chaos - and loving it!
This book follows directly on from the events of the first book and so I'd definitely suggest that you read these books in order.
The character progression is important and also the storyline continues directly, with often reference to previous events.
Although, this storyline is a complete section which concludes nicely within itself - but with obvious hints to what might follow in the third book - The Realm Of Gods.
I don't really want to talk plot here as I don't want to give any spoilers - but I loved how this connected to the first book and then took the journey even further.
The world building continues, as after the previous events, the factions have altered and we see a whole new set of rules for the world thats been left behind.
This was really cleverly worked through and it was great to see the further progression of each of the different sections and characters.
With the inclusion of some new foes - we see another action packed story unfold.
I loved meeting the children and seeing each of their abilities - intriguing to watch how these enhanced the already exciting plot.
The amazing writing style continues and holds our interest from start to finish and I really enjoyed diving straight into this and continuing the adventure.
I'm a bit upset that I have to fit 2 other books in now before going into book 3 - but I can't wait to get back to Galen and the gang and see where book 3 takes us all.

I really did enjoy listening to this audiobook. I love this series. I liked seeing Galen and Lorre back. Gripping. I couldn't stop listening to this audiobook. I did love the different voices of the different characters. It feels like I'm there watching everything happening. I love that with a book or audiobook. It's like watching a movie come alive. I love the sound of Glen's voice. I can't wait until the next book. I definitely recommend this series. Especially on audiobook.
Blurb.

Amazing narration!
This was a great sequel to The Child of Chaos. The storyline carried on perfectly, but there was a lot of new adventure and mystery brought into the book. I liked that there was no clear good or bad, both sides thought they were doing the right thing and made mistakes. At times, I was rooting for the Harbingers and others I was rooting for the priests.
I really enjoyed meeting so many new characters in this book. Especially Sunny and Eve! I think they brought a lot of light into the story and gave the characters purpose. I found Galen to be quite selfish in this story, he kept putting his wants before others' needs. I connected a lot more with Myra this time and enjoyed seeing her character blossom.
I can't wait to see how this trilogy ends!
