Summary
Two strong women, one complicated man, and the secrets that draw them together - with explosive consequences...
An unforgettable contemporary novel from the no.1 bestselling author of What Eden Did Next and Three Weddings and a Proposal Sheila O'Flanagan.
Izzy is in the Caribbean on the honeymoon-that-isn't after her fiancé broke her heart. She's not looking for someone new. But when she meets Charles Miller, a successful writer holidaying alone, the electricity is undeniable. And what does she have to lose?
In Ireland, Charles's ex-wife and agent Ariel flits from party to party, glamorous and poised. She's always in touch with Charles. Though they're divorced, they're very close. Ariel wonders if they should get back together. She's an independent woman, but she liked being part of a power couple. And she's sure she only has to say, and they'll pick up where they left off.
No matter how in control of life you think you are, it can shock and surprise you. As Izzy, Ariel and Charles are about to find out...

Enjoyable story
Love Sheila’s books, nice and easy listen even if I did think Izzy was a bit high maintenance.

Not the best for me
I love Sheila O’Flanagan books and have read them all. For some reason, this one did not grab me in the same way that others have.
I found it difficult to relate to any of the characters and found them a little one dimensional. Characters in a book rather than plausible real life people. I also found it difficult to listen to the voice of Ariel, feeling that the voice sounded too old for the character.
Others might disagree, but not my favourite S O’F book.
Overall an ok summer read or easy listening but without depth.

Fab story, lovely narrators
I bought this book because of one of the narrators (Izzy chapters) and I’m delighted I did! I’ve never bought a book by the author before and I’m glad I did with this one. Funny and sweet storyline and wonderful narration pairing.

enjoyed
I enjoyed the story but didn't think it was as good as her other books. Rooted for the ex wife. liked her character a lot better than the main one.

Disappointed
I was really looking forward to this book being released, as a long term SF fan. Bought it on day 1 but sadly was disappointed. The arc was predictable and I didn’t feel enough about the main characters to care was happened to them in the end. The character of Arial was the only one I felt was multi dimensional & interesting. The Arial narrator was far stronger than the other as well. Sadly can’t recommend.

Characters & story line
The book was good it felt a bit dragged out in the beginning and then all of a sudden it started to pick up, and I was hooked! Definitely will listen to it again. Overall 4 out of 5

Disappointing ending
Why finish the book in this way with an open ended ending. Having invested in a long read it would have been nice to get a definitive ending

Interesting storytelling
I did enjoy this audiobook… although seeing an individual review before I listened, seemed to be always in the back of my mind. I think I was a little disappointed, with one of the narrator’s voices, and think that was possibly due to the review. Next time will definitely not read any reviews before listening …. I have always enjoyed Sheila O’Flanagan’s work, and was excited about this project. I always want a happy ending 🥰 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not her best
This is the first time I have ever given up on a Sheila O’Flanagan book but this is just not worth the time. The plot is weak, the characters are not likeable and I can’t stand having to listen to the hashtag reference one more time. I was really looking forward to this and have read Sheila’s books from the first.Let’s hope the next one is better.
