About this listen
From the USA Today bestselling author of The Friend Zone comes an adorable and fresh romantic comedy about one trouble-making dog who brings together two perfect strangers.
Two years after losing her fiancé, Sloan Monroe still can't seem to get her life back on track. But one trouble-making pup with a 'take me home' look in his eyes is about to change everything. With her new pet by her side, Sloan finally starts to feel more like herself. Then, after weeks of unanswered texts, Tucker's owner reaches out. He's a musician on tour in Australia. And bottom line: he wants Tucker back.
Well, Sloan's not about to give up her dog without a fight. But what if this Jason guy really loves Tucker? As their flirty texts turn into long calls, Sloan can't deny a connection. Jason is hot and nice and funny. There's no telling what could happen when they meet in person. The question is: with his music career on the rise, how long will Jason really stick around? And is it possible for Sloan to survive another heartbreak?

A delightfully romantic tale
This is #2 of the Friend Zone series by Abby Jimenez and can definitely be read as a standalone.
It was truly delightful. I loved the banter between Jason and Sloan, when Sloan 'adopted' Tucker who indeed turned out to be a lifesaver! Added to this was a great cast of characters, all of whom I really liked.
It was refreshing to read a light but touching romantic story about normal people, dealing with normal issues, except of course the manic music industry, which can of course be insane!
I also loved how they brought the best out of each other and how they got together in the end was truly romantic.
The Epilogue was perfect, giving us an insight into their future life together and the notes were very interesting, having been through something similar recently.
The #dualnarration was superb by the talented #JacobMorgan and #ErinMallon
I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a swoony hero, a romantic story with a bit of fur thrown in!

5 star read!!
I love Abbey and her writing but this book might be my fave of hers! At the time of writing this I just have Life's too short left to read.
This book had me grinning like a Cheshire Cat, hatred, anger and sadness all rolled into one!!
When a dog gets run over and then jumps into a girls car sunroof it had me hooked from first chapter!! It just got better and better!
A 5 star must read!

So beautifully written 💖
If you love dogs, home cooked meals, music, sleeping in a tent under the stars 🥹 and just a pure wholesome people that love each other deeply. Well this book is for you!
Also, I completely didn’t realise till half way through to listen to the soundtrack available 🙈 at the start of each chapter there’s a song that represents the mood of the scene which is such a fabulous concept, really makes you feel connected to the story!
It’s available on Spotify under The Happy Ever After Playlist and has some greats songs on there.

Not just a romance
This is an interesting exploration of grief and of the world of the music industry. The playlist that can be downloaded adds further depth.
