Polly Potter is surviving, not thriving. She used to love her job – until her mentor died and her new boss decided to make her life hell. She used to love her partner Chris – until he cheated on her, and now she can’t forget. The only place where her life is working is on the pages of the novel she is writing – there she can create a feistier, bolder, more successful version of herself – as the fictional Sabrina Anderson.
But what if it was possible to start over again? To leave everything behind, forget all that went before, and live the life you’d always dreamed of?
After a set of unforeseen circumstances, Polly ends up believing she really IS Sabrina, living at the heart of a noisy Italian family restaurant by the sea. Run by Teddy, the son of her new landlady Marielle, it’s a much-loved place, facing threat of closure as a rival restaurant moves in next door. Sabrina can’t remember her life as Polly, but she knows she is living a different life from the one she used to have.
But what if this new life could belong to her after all?
‘Reading a Milly Johnson book is like spending time with a best friend – you always end up feeling better about the world. Written with genuine warmth and heart, they’re an absolute treat’ Lucy Diamond
‘One of those novels that draws you in to its world and makes you wish you could be friends with Shay. A tantalising juicy tale full of twists and turns that kept me gripped. Warm, funny and moving. One to curl up with and devour’ Ruth Jones
‘The feeling you get when you read a Milly Johnson book should be bottled and made available on the NHS’ Debbie Johnson

Another brilliant book
I always love Milly Johnson's books and this ones a doozy!!!
I love it when the horrible people get their dues, and nobody does that like Milly.
Cammay deserved a good slap though!!!
I love Colleen's narration, it really brings the characters to life.
Can't decide which one to re-listen to again because I'm not ready to step out of Milly land just yet.
Love love loved it!

Back on form
I love Milly Johnson, though I didn’t really enjoy her last 2/3 books, but with this book I feel normal business is resumed! I cried with laughing, but it was also filled with such emotion. Great story telling. Just great!

An easy listen
The first few chapters were a bit pedestrian but the storyline picked up and a few twists kept my attention. It is the typical formula of this genre with a fairly predictable ending but I enjoyed it enough to keep listening and to feel a little sad when it ended.

Totally UnPutDownable!
Milly Johnson has outdone herself, if that were even possible following her previous books!
I’ve absolutely loved The Happiest Ever After from start to finish.
A story within a story, plot within a plot, the continual thread of seagulls and childhood warm memories running throughout.
The yearning for a new life, new adventures, sadness, blankness, getting screwed over at work, within family.
Being dealt blow after blow but emerging stronger than ever even with a different persona.
Inspiration and truly uplifting.
Pure escapism as we dive into the world of Polly aka Sabrina.
The spelling mistakes and apologies from the newspaper publishers are hilarious too.
Ten stars from me, I bought the hardback limited edition too so mi can share the book with my daughters.

Loved this book …
What a total surprise. I was invested in Polly right from the beginning. An engaging story that had highs and lows. Will look for more of Milly Johnson’s books. A really lovely book to relax and listen too. Thank you 😊
