About this listen
Hayden meets a mysterious ghost with secrets to tell. Can he help explain the unsolved mystery surrounding the death of someone who was already dead? Can Hayden, with the help of her family, friends, and her sassy cat, Latifa, unscramble this mystery and keep Destiny Falls safe?
A mysterious old man keeps popping up to tell Hayden a series of tall tales. Who is he? And is he actually glowing? Are his stories fiction, or is he telling her the history of her family, the enchanted islands, and the witch? And why did a dead body show up...of someone who is already dead?
Can Hayden and her quirky sidekick, Latifa, unscramble this mystery?
Hayden’s adventures in the magical world of Destiny Falls continue in this gripping story that answers your questions about the mysterious world she entered through a mirror in book one, Falling into Magic. We learn more about her missing mother, whose story begins in book two, The Disappearance of Emily.

Great even not sat round a campfire
Oh boy, I am still loving this series. i read the book on my kindle and jumped at the chance to experience it again as an audio book. It was still as mysterious. This book continues from where book two (the disappearance of Emily) left off, so I think you need to have read or listened to the previous books to get the full enjoyment and mystery of this book, but don't worry you won't be disappointed. In this book you learn more about the two mysterious islands, which the author has a lot of fun creating, I love how it is different every time. The mystery was just as captivating and I love the different teams needed to solve it, especially the fluffy kind and even a ghost gets in on the act. I love the characters, I might have said that for all three books in the series so far but it still holds true and the more I learn and discover about them the more I like them. There are a fun, quirky and mysterious lot, that I enjoy getting to know. The main murder does get explained but there is lots of secrets that we still need to discover. The story does jump around, with most of the story following Hayden but occasionally we get to hear what the witch is up to. There is no spell casting, so if witch craft isn't your thing then don't let that put you off because to be honest it is so much more than a Mystery & Magic Series but it is hard to explain so just read it for yourself and find out. The story does abruptly end with you wondering what is going to happen and if like me desperately wanting the next book.
Hayden is wondering what the next article for her newspaper is going to be, when you live in a sleepy little town but Destiny Falls is anything but sleepy and has a habit of helping her find just what she needs, even if she doesn't know she needs it. This time the help is in the form of the discovery of a body on the hiking trail. The body of a man she already thought was dead. With no obvious signs of death, Hayden finds herself once again asking questions about the mysterious island, the ferry and her mother's disappearance. Can they all be connected? And if so, how? Hayden discovers a new secret the island has kept quiet for years, a ghost that likes to tell stories around a campfire but is there more to the tales than just a lonely ghost looking for friendship? Can he help provide some of the answers? Hayden's family fear for her safety when once again someone makes a play for the box of documents about the ferry and take it in turns to protect her. Will it be enough when she is on the trail of a killer?I
I really liked the narrator. She did some interesting voices for the characters but I especially loved the voice she used for the cat latifah, it has just the right amount of sass to really bring her to life.
