Summary
Space: the biggest geopolitical story of the coming century—new from the multi-million-copy international bestselling author of Prisoners of Geography.
Spy satellites orbiting the moon. Space metals worth more than most countries’ GDP. People on Mars within the next ten years.
This isn’t science fiction. It’s astropolitics.
Humans are heading up and out, and we’re taking our power struggles with us. Soon, what happens in space will shape human history as much the mountains, rivers and seas have on Earth. It’s no coincidence that Russia, China and the USA are leading the way. The next fifty years will change the face of global politics.
In this gripping book, bestselling author Tim Marshall lays bare the new geopolitical realities to show how we got here and where we’re going, covering the new space race; great-power rivalry; technology; economics; war; and what it means for all of us down here on Earth. Written with all the insight and wit that have made Marshall the UK’s most popular writer on geopolitics, this is the essential book on power, politics and the future of humanity.

Never knew
I never knew how many countries are already part of the space race. How early it all started (we all know about the man on the Moon, but little most people know of the many kind of satellites and their uses).
Very interesting and thought provoking book.

Another great read from Tim Marshall
Having read both of the authors prior books, this one did not disappoint! Though a lot of the book is based on hypotheticals, it has to be as we are yet to explore space in such a manner as that which we’ve just dawned upon.

Another belter from Tim Marshall
Great analysis and told with a characteristic mix of detail and humour that makes a complicated subject eminently digestible.
Well narrated, though early on I realised the narrator's voice reminded me of William Hague and I couldn't un-hear him from then on.

He’s done it again
Fantastic book once again, at least in his top 2. The last chapters are just brilliant.

Geopolitics that is quite literally 'Out of thie World'!
Absolutely fascinating treatise of planetary politics. An epic voyage of discovery that balances history with future postulations and predictions. This final book in the "Geography" trilogy is very well-read by the author and a thought provoking account indeed!

Lights years of knowledge.
Absolutely love Tim Marshalls books. Excellent narrator with a fantastic writing style. Following his last chapter of space from "The Power of Geography" this book is an excellent extension. Loved every minute, albeit the frightening thought of it ever happening.

Interesting book but can hear a sticky mouth
On headphones you hear in too much clarity that the narrator as a sticky or perhaps just a lot of moisture in his mouth. I find it very off putting personally. I can’t listen to this on headphones. Poor quality in my opinion but and interesting book.
