Summary

Every novella by Ursula K. Le Guin, an icon in American literature, collected for the first time - and introduced by the legendary author - in one breathtaking volume.

Ursula K. Le Guin has won multiple prizes and accolades, from the Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters to the Newbery Honor, Nebula, Hugo, World Fantasy, and PEN/Malamud awards. She has had her work collected over the years but never as a complete retrospective of her longer works, as represented in the wonderful The Found and the Lost. This collection is a literary treasure chest that belongs in every home library.

An excellent collection.

One of my very favourite authors, who I don't get time enough to read, so this format is perfect. Only a couple of stories didn't fully engage me, but there is so much to enjoy in the rest that it really didn't matter.
Sadly we are once again a victim of Audible cheaping out, as there are NO book or chapter titles.

The found and the lost

Excellent mix of Earthsea, Hain and other novellas. Good performances by both narrators: enjoyed this.

Wonderful collection, excellent narrative.

A fantastic means to delve into Ursula Le Guin myriad of worlds, even for the first time. 35 hours flew by. One of my best audible purchases.

A great collection with some power stories.

Very unusual selection. A bit of Sci-fi, a trip to Earthsea and perhaps my favourite the interwoven lives of the women of a single family. Le Guins trademark world building is evident throughout.

some really original ideas

i could not give this book five stars because a few stories really dragged on and almost tempted me to abandon the book. thankfully i persevered and was rewarded by the final story’paradise lost’.

Captivating ideas, outstanding narrators

A great selection of Le Guin's work, very varied, enjoyed some genres more than other, which was to be expected. Buffallo Gals and Paradises Lost being personally the most memorable. Great listen for many evenings!

Le Guin never disappoints

loved all of the titles in this. I preferred the Hainish Cycle related ones over the Earthsea ones, but that comes down to personal taste. all great.

Some wonderful concepts wrapped in dreamy worlds

Some tales better than others. Some are absolutely brilliant. All are worth a listen. Personal highlights were buffalo gals, a women’s liberation and paradises lost.

A great collection

It's not surprising that in her time Le Guin won so many awards, her work has crossed the intervening years very well and doesn't seem dated or old, she's also very brave with her writing unafraid to discuss taboo and difficult subjects.
