Probably the best narrated audio book ever
Fantastic from start to finish. Rosamund Pike brings every character to life from the smallest conversations to the loudest battle cries in the old tongue.

Not the cynical money grab I expected.
When I first got the email from audible about this I was dead against getting it; I have the complete series already read by Kate Reading and Michael Kramer that I have listened to about five times why did I need a TV show tie in, however, as a fan of the series I couldn’t resist. I have done the complete 33hr book in two days, this isn’t just a new narration of the book but a complete performance of it and Rosamund Pike is just phenomenal; I didn’t expect the performance to be so good, it was like listening to the book for the first time. Even if you already have the previous version it is still worth the credit to get this one as well; I just hope they do the entire series; I think even the “slog”, fans will know what I mean, would be enjoyable with Rosamund Pike narrating it.

Absolutely amazing
I’ve read the whole series and loved it but found recently i need audio books as I don’t have time to actually read and I really want to have a re read (listen) of The Wheel of Time audio books but I just can’t stand the current Kramer/Kate ones (sorry to the fans but to me it sounds dated, the accents are totally off, people and places sound wrong, just can’t do it) Rosamund does an exceptional job- exactly what I wanted BUT I desperately would like clarification of if she is doing the others and when they would be released would also be nice to know. I have emailed Macmillan Books directly but received no reply unfortunately. Would be such a shame if it was just a one off or we have to wait a year for book 2. Please just let us know if RP has been commissioned to do them all.

Gripped from beginning to end and blown away by Rosamond Pikes' performance. I can't wait for the second installment, so much so i'm just going to have to read the book myself and listen back when available.

Loved it!
Really enjoyed this book in audible and want to move onto the next one, but hoping that Rosamund Pike will narrate the next one in time so holding out for now

Stunning start to one of the true epics genre
I read the eye of the world many years ago, and with the release of the TV series thought I would listen to an audio version. Rosmand Pike is amazing as the narrator and if she ever wants to swap careers she could definitely be a top class narrator.
As to the book itself, eye of the world is almost a complete package without the 13 books that follow it. The bloating that occurs is some of the later books is not present and the pacing is strong throughout, unlike the TV series character development is well thought out and while you may not like them all there is definitely a coherent narrative.
Great book, brilliantly narrator.

Gripping Performance
Loved the narration! I am amazed Rosamund Pike could voice differently each of the many characters. There was such a wide range from beautifully sounding to ugly. It really made the story come to life and me not wanting it to end!

Hope Pike reads the rest of the series too, she's a wonderful narrator! The existing books' narrators are terrible to listen to for for a non-american; I was unable to get past the first few chapters of the first book and had to return it - it felt like listening to a western, not fantasy..
