About this listen
A modern-day pirate. An heiress lost at sea. And the treasure of a lifetime.
He’s beautiful. Calculating. Cruel. And he’s taken me hostage. When pirates board my boyfriend’s yacht, I jump overboard to save myself. Drifting at sea. Until one man rescues me from the endless ocean. Except he has plans of his own. I’m worth too much money for ransom. He’ll keep me on his ship and in his bed. The real danger lies in his dark-depth eyes. He wants more from me than money. Than passion. He wants everything. He rescued me, but I’m far from safe. There’s an entire sea of danger threatening to drag me under.
The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by USA Today best-selling author Amelia Wilde is a dangerously sexy contemporary romance that will blow you out of the water.

dark, pirate, age gap
3,5🌟 Be prepared to be extremely frustrated with the fmc, despite the fact she is a socialite and quite spoiled she keeps hinting there is more depth to her, but we never get to really see it. He's a brooding ahole, so what he does is kind of expected. Still the entire thing was a bit odd and despite the extremely spicy scenes and the excellent narration, it leaves some to be desired.

predictable
don't know why I'm surprised but the storyline is predictable. apparently its normal for the kidnapped person to fall instantly in love/lust with the kidnapper and of course the kidnapper is a hard man who all of a sudden finds himself unable to stay away, even though there is barely any interaction between them. female character is a bit too meek and mild

Helpless woman with a rapey pirate
She has almost no trauma from anything that happens to her. Major stockholm syndrome. A bit too rapey for my liking, I stopped listening during chapter 15.
