About this listen
Never go home.
Sixteen years ago, Becky told a lie. And someone died. Now she’s back on the tiny island off the windswept Dorset coast where she grew up. The place she swore she’d never return to. She is home for her mum’s funeral.
The islanders make clear she isn’t wanted. They haven’t forgotten what she did. Some ignore her. Some won’t look her in the eye.
Becky wants to get away. But she hears a story that she can’t ignore. About a teenage girl who went missing a year ago. Some say she left for the mainland with her boyfriend. But the girl’s sister thinks they’re lying.
As a storm rages towards the island, Becky knows someone in this tightly-knit community is hiding the blackest of secrets.

Great story. Narrated well by Sofia Engstrand
5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wow….
✨ Thriller
✨ Abduction
✨ Suspense
Who really to trust?…
✨ Rebecca ( Becky) is the main character in this story. She left the island of ‘kriton’ of dorset to be a journalist in London. She came back to her hometown when her mother died. She wasn’t welcome.
As her past still hunted her.
✨ She met lots of newbies in town. A handyman. A new neighbour and a new English teacher.
They were all suspect on her eye. Well, apart from Steven (her neighbour).
✨ She was so keen to know why Violet left the island or she? Becky started to investigate to find the truth.
✨ I got to admit I was listening this through audiobook while cooking and I’m stunned. It was written perfectly and I was satisfy with the ending.
My mouth was in a big ‘o’ as it was so good to read.
✨ I want to give a credit aswell to Sofia Engstrand, she narrate the story very well .
✨Thankyou @joffebooks for the copy of this arc for a honest review.
