Summary

You only let her go for a second… Now she’s gone.

Erika Rice is in an elevator with her four-year-old daughter Alice when all the lights go out. It jerks to a stop on a deserted floor of apartments and the little girl runs out into the corridor.

But before Erika can follow her the doors slam shut again. Now her daughter is nowhere to be seen.

Erika was about to take Alice away for a fresh start, far from her troubled past, when the child vanished. How could a four-year-old disappear into thin air?

And with no one to help her, will Erika ever find her daughter?

A gripping and addictive psychological thriller that will have you holding on tight to the ones you love. If you enjoyed Behind Closed Doors, Silent Child, and I Let You Go, you won’t want to miss The Day I Lost You!

Dull and boring

Couldn’t wait to get to the end of this book. The worst ever psychological thriller I’ve read/listened to. Made me realise audio books are not for me!!!!!

Got this one completely wrong

I found this one really sad, but I was gripped from page 1, I had to know what had happened to Alice. In this case though, the twist at the end totally got me. I didn't see it coming at all. I felt really sorry for Alice's mother after what we discover. If you're like me, it'll totally shock you at the end, really worth reading.

Ridiculous and implausible

Well, it’s been a very long time since I have read something quite this bad. The plot is so implausible that I was tempted on several occasions to just give up. I feel that book was written to fit the twist at the end and was not fully thought through. I would not recommend this book to anyone. The narrator did the best she could with material she had. Don’t bother.
