The demographics of family structure have come a long way. The typical mother and father figures can now be two mothers, two fathers, single parents, or mother and father. We come from all cultures and continents, and family is more than Mom and Dad. In many cultures the immediate family consists of the mother, father, and grandparents, with other extended family members.
