Graham Masterton is Back on Form With This Audiobook
It’s fair to say after not enjoying the first audiobook in this series, I wasn’t expecting much from this one.
However, I’m glad I listened to it. It’s so much better than audiobook 1 in the series.
Graham is back on form with this the second audiobook in the series. It’s also helped by the new narrator. Caroline Lennon provides excellent narration and brings each of the characters to life.
I really hope Graham brings out a sequel to this audiobook, as the ending cleverly leaves the listener wanting more.

My best author.
I love this Author and have been follow him since the 80s. Although good, I found this book a little under par to his normal writing, but still enjoyed the suspense the great characters and Grahams ability to grab hold of ones imagination and expand it seven fold.
Caroline Lennon told the story with great feeling and brought the caractors to life for me.

Is it the end of Friendship?
Book 2 in the Patel & Pardoe series.. and there had better be a book 3 because this story is not finished!!! I felt it ended so quickly and with unanswered questions.
Book 2 is a somewhat better than book 1 - the SAS weren't called in, and the narrator changed, so no more annoying screaming (see my review of Book 1, Ghost Virus).
I found the story very interesting. Although there are unusual murders, there is more focus on the 'nestlings' (the deformed babies/children) and their caretaker, Friendship (a name), the woman made of smoke. I would have liked to have known more about her earlier on, maybe a bit of her back story woven into the present, including how and why the old man was involved. We do, however, find out more about her towards the end of the book.
The narrator was good, but it was not as much of a 'performance' as the narrator in book 1, who was at times, a bit too much. I think the author needs to find a happy medium here with the narrators.
I will probably read book 3 when it comes out, to see if it finishes this story off and who narrates it and then make my decision whether I want to read future books in the series based on that.
I have given this book 4 stars, but only because I can't do halves. in honesty, it's a 3.5 for me.

A Lot of Sewage
Not one of his best by far. I found it very silly plus years ago I had read something very similar. It would have been better with a narrator who could do a Pakistani accent as one of the main characters was Pakistani as was quite a lot of others. There was no change of voice or tone for male characters either. I have all his books, the old ones are the best, if there is number three in this series I don’t think I will bother. I suppose it is hard for a writer over the years to come up with a good idea, he is still one of the best.
