When Annie marries widower Edward Stonehouse and arrives at Guardbridge, his estate on the Yorkshire moors, she thinks she has finally put darkness behind her.
She is mistaken.
Edward's sister, Iris, still lives in the family home. A taxidermist and medium, she urges Annie to watch out for black feathers - claiming that they mark the spot where a spirt has visited.
At first, Annie dismisses her warnings. But, before long, she begins to feel haunted.
What exactly happened to Edward's first wife? Why is Iris so disturbed?
And should Annie really be watching for signs from the dead - or is she the one being watched?

Great plot with some excellent twists
Fantastic story well read and captivating, the characters were relatable and interesting, it kept me guessing throughout and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Outstanding
Excellent plot twists and a storyline that keeps you guessing until the very end. Beautifully written story conveying the eerie chill of the house and the clenching fear within. Fabulous narration adding drama and emotion to the tale. I loved every minute of this story and will revisit it again in the future.

Fantastic listen
After several disappointing audio books I was delighted to have bought this. So evocative and descriptive with characters that felt fully wrought and engaging. This is better even than her previous book. Narration was also excellent. Can’t wait for her next one!

Gothic, atmospheric, moving
A great story. I loved it. Suitably ghostly, gothic and I enjoyed the narrators soothing voice too.
I was in floods of tears at the end, although I won't give any spoilers.

Hauntingly beautiful
A hauntingly beautiful book with an eerie tale of ghosts, love and mystery. I really enjoyed reading this and am looking forward to reading more from this author!

Black Feathers
A new author for me and glad I bought it when I saw it advertised.
Brilliantly narrated and a pleasure to listen.
Not so much a ghost story but more psychological, how manipulation and imagination can betray the mind and lead a person to fear and doubt.
The "ghost" was obvious, and the ending was beautiful. I thought thats the way it would end and glad it didn't disappoint.
Glad I took a chance with this one, 5 stars 🌟
