About this listen
"I'm sorry Lord
You can try me Lord
If you think there's a way
I can repay what I've taken from you
My soul in is your hands"
So sings music legend Johnny Cash, who, despite having been a rebel, a hell raiser, and one of the biggest sinners of them all, not only spent the last few years of his life as a devout Christian, but released some of the best music of his career as well.
That's how we have always had a connection, you see. Not in a personal way, mind you. From afar. Although I would have given anything to meet him in person if I'd had the chance.
But he nonetheless had a very profound effect on my life.
Then again, I'm quite sure that Johnny had a very profound effect on a lot of lives.
How could he not? He was a very commanding presence to be close to. Whether he was singing or speaking, his voice alone commanded attention and respect.
His voice was like no other; his stand-alone bass-baritone vocal style was akin to rolling thunder in a violent storm, but if you stood by Johnny's side through it all, you just knew you could weather the storm together.
Come join me on our journey together, with tales of hope, inspiration, and redemption - and our long dark journey back into the light of God....
