Summary

President Jack Ryan faces a world crisis unlike any he has ever known. A high-level assassination attempt in Russia has the newly elected Ryan sending his most trusted eyes and ears - including antiterrorism specialist John Clark - to Moscow, for he fears the worst is yet to come. And he’s right. The attempt has left the already unstable Russia vulnerable to ambitious forces in China eager to fulfill their destiny. If they succeed, the world as we know it will never look the same. If they fail, the consequences may be unspeakable. Blending the exceptional realism and authenticity that are his hallmarks with intricate plotting, razor-sharp suspense and a remarkable cast of characters, this is Clancy at his best.

Great story from the master.

I have enjoyed most of the Clancy novels I’ve either read or listened to. This is right up there with Red Storm Rising demonstrating the author’s great eye for just the right amount of detail and tension. The reader is excellent as well.

Engaging to the end

Whilst many many hours this book was very engaging and had a complex story. I found it nicely detailed with rich information allowing me to be absorbed into the story line. Only the last chapter or so did I find rushed, but I suppose the story can't just keep going

Excellent narration

Clancy reigns supreme

As usual a slow burn start then strands knit together to make another brilliant book by Tom Clancy. Narration was excellent, very much in keeping with the books subject.

I have read this book many times.

Listening to it unabridged with this level of performance. Fantastic.
This is a master class in the world of Jack Ryan.

Extremely good.

The narration was wonderful except for the dire British Accents. Please get them right. The Rainbow team and other Brits would never talk like that!

typical Clancy techno drama

a fascinating hypothesis but spoilt slightly by continual insertion of political / social commentary Quite slow moving until the final few chapters. A very long read but the fact I persevered means it was a compelling story.

Another great book by TC

To get the best out of this book and the other Jack Ryan books you should read these in order. You will then get the greatness of Tom Clancy stories within stories that you think where is this going or what is this all about can come back in the next book or even the book after that. This book is great you really get to know all the characters a must read.
