About this listen

This could very well be the definitive American novel. A great success since it was first published. Required reading. Great fun.

Huckleberry Finn-brilliantly read

I really enjoyed this book not just because of the obvious quality of the literature but the due to the superb narration. The reader, Jim Donaldson does such great voices in the wonderful dialect that it makes you just want to keep on listening. A really charming read.

I Highly recommend this book.

A question of pace (or lack thereof)

A classic book, deservedly so, but let down by narration that has the pace of a slow moving river. It may be a mood thing. Eventually I had to stop listening as I found it frustrating.

The narrators voice is lovely and the accents all sound to this Brit to be authentic deep South US. I just couldn't bear the hesitations and gaps and general sluggishness of it all. There are also one or two repeat starts to sentences which the editor has failed to notice.
