About this listen
"This must be the strangest birthday letter ever!" Lola exclaimed.
Just when Lola Evers was settling into her new life in Virginia, making summer plans with her aunt and her new beau Jackson, she receives a letter summoning her to a two-week summer program at...wait for it... a magic school!
It seems the magic traveling key she inherited comes with a catch: mandatory attendance at the Academy. Within days of arriving at the Academy, Lola realizes that traveling instantly between places is the least strange thing she has done so far!

Fantastic
Excellent, fun and with likeable twists and turns. The amount of study at summer camp made me cringe. The extra family member was a surprise.

Unexpected outcome!
The story is about feelings, how to deal with them and understand them. The author is a master at describing the situations the teenagers find themselves in and makes you empathize with them. When they find themselves in a new place with new like-minded people, everyday life changes.
The opportunity to travel is a dream for many. They want to spend time in different parts of the world and see how others manage their lives. If you like the idea too, this is a must-read that you will enjoy.
The audio book is very well narrated and makes listening easy.

Lola goes to school.
The author Marie-Helene Lebeault starts her second book in this series in a familiarity of Harry Potter which I’m sure will change in time.
Similarly is the school, the secret doors to get there or other places and the bloodlines.
What’s different is that the headmaster is an elves with pointy ears and pure white hair.
Here the author imagination goes on a different path, a little too much of the description of exotic foods and other things which usually done by authors to get a story longer but are not necessary and at times can ruin a book instead of add to it, luckily it’s almost unfelt and does no harm on this one.
Waiting for the conspiracy or the big twist which will make me want to jump right into the third book.
Beautiful Narration by Valerie Rose Lohman for each one of the characters in this book.
Absolutely recommended !!!
Oded Ostfeld.
