Critic reviews

"Pimsleur programs provide plenty of positive reinforcement that will keep learners on track, and we found that Pimsleur gave us more proficiency and confidence in speaking the new language than any of the other language programs we reviewed." ( AudioFile magazine)

Excellent training

After visiting Thailand 7 times, I now want to be able to speak some of the Thai language next year.
I think this Audible recording is an excellent way to do that.

Intuitive learning programme

Excellent. I love it though I think my friends think I'm nuts wandering around talking Thai to myself. In my view thus is not simething to do half arsed, you have to be committed to learning, but if you are this audio teaching really works. If you work at this and supplement with some you tube, maybe even invest in a begginers course online, you will get the hang of it im sure.

Learning by repartition

This works well for me. I have learnt all that it has offered. Now going on to the next group of units.

wow

truly the best help iv had in progressing from a total beginner. But I would suggest learning the basics before starting because it is a little full on.

Fastest way to get started

I found Pimsleur to be the fastest way to get started in any language. I’m only 4 days in Thailand and I can already ask and say quite a bit.
The only thing I’d say is that the story is a bit random, you don’t learn the typical basics, like hello, how are you, where are you from? But I can ask for directions at least haha
It definitely keeps it interesting and it’s in bite sized amounts that I don’t get too overwhelmed.. but still challenging enough that I don’t get bored.

it's working

This is working for me. I have tried talking to Thai friends and they honestly tell me my pronunciation is good while still having a thick English accent. This is marvellous as some English cant understand me when I talk English as I am from Birmingham

Amazing

For someone who has no memory and is useless when it comes to languages this has been brilliant. I’m already a bit gutted there is no phase two does anyone know if another phase at intermediate is coming out?

Good method but way too short

The book sarts off with a complete chapter about the method of learning a foreign language and the authors skills, so the first chapter is useless filler talk. Then there are only 5 learning chapters . all you will learn is... hello, how are you and are you hungry and where is Sukhumvit Road. Thats it. 5 days of learning. A bit expensive for such a short book. The method is good , however I felt a bit ripped off for learning so little for the money.
