About this listen
He was born to be a knight. I’m a noble lady. We’re a perfect match — but destiny has other ideas…
MARIAN
Fairest maiden in the land? I’d rather be known as the best swordswoman or the best rider. On the other hand, there are advantages to keeping my skills secret — along with my rare shifter heritage. Like now, when I must outwit the cruelest, most ruthless man alive. To do so, I head to the most lawless corner of the country, hoping to find Robin Hood. But when the safe haven I was counting on turns out to be a double cross, I find an unlikely ally in the hottest priest in the land.
TUCK
As the third son of a country lord, I had no choice but to join a monastery and become Friar Tuck. Eat, pray, repeat was my future, and damn, was that future bleak. In a few short days, I’ll have to take my vows and make it official. Me, a lion shifter, living a life of poverty, obedience, and chastity?
Poverty…
No problem. As the son of a wealthy lord, it seems only fair to make up for my privileged upbringing.
Obedience…
Not my strong suit. If I’d had my dream job — Crusader knight and fearless swordsman — I could have lived with it. But it's hard to take orders from men who speak in gentle whispers and dress in bathrobes.
Chastity…
BIG problem. I just don’t have it in me.
Life gets a little more interesting when I start helping Robynne Hood… and a LOT more interesting when a beautiful and mysterious woman comes to our monastery, seeking refuge. I’m her only hope, but it would take a miracle to earn a happily-ever-after. I’ll have to settle for saving her from greedy, ruthless shifters plotting to overthrow the monarchy — if she’ll even let me.
Still, I’ve always been a dreamer, and I’m not ready to give up hope, love, or the chance to fulfill my true destiny.
SHERWOOD FOREST SHIFTERS
Book 1: Tempting the Sheriff
Book 2: Tempting the Outlaw
Book 3: Tempting the Maiden
A steamy, suspenseful paranormal romance series that corrects all the errors of the Robin Hood legends. If you enjoyed the humor of The Princess Bride and the action-packed romance of Outlander, you’ll love this fresh new twist on a classic, complete with brave knights, cunning bandits, fire-breathing dragons, and forbidden lovers.

Tuck and Marion - The Lion and The ??????
My review is written voluntarily after listening to the audio version of this book
Tempting the Maiden is the third book in the Sherwood Forest Shifters Trilogy and whilst the main story revolves around Maid Marian and Friar Tuck it isn't only their story, because this book ties up all the loose ends we were left with in the two earlier books and completes Willa and John's story and we find out how Robyn and Daniel can finally be together and there's even a happy ever after for Robyn's brother Robert!
Marian's a shifter, but you'll be surprised by what type, she's been called the fairest maiden in the land but she's far more than her looks, she's loyal, clever, strong-willed, smart, brave, stubborn and can wield a sword and dagger as well as, if not better than, most men. Friar Tuck is as we know not suited to life in the monastery but as the third son of his noble family, it's expected that he takes his vows. Something he's dreading but something he can see no honourable way of avoiding. On the upside, his position within the clergy has allowed him to help Robyn in the past and being a good man with a caring and thoughtful personality the help he gives to the poor of the parish is sorely needed, but he yearns to be a knight......
Marion and Tuck met in February 1194 when Marian took refuge in the library of Tuck's monastery to hide from and avoid being forced to marry Prince John. Tuck discovered her hiding place when he went to retrieve something from the library one night and he found himself on the wrong end of her dagger. The connection made that night was one Tuck felt could go nowhere, she was of noble birth and the God-Daughter of King Richard whilst he was a penniless third son. But you can't fight destiny and they continued to meet in secret. But then a traitorous monk makes it necessary for her to change her plans. Marion along with Tuck sneak out of the monastery under cover of darkness and set off to rally the noblemen still loyal to King Richard.
They travel to the Manor of Lord and Lady Winthrope where they all make a plan to finally stop Prince John. But.........
This trilogy is a phenomenally entertaining retelling of the tale of Robin Hood. The author's imaginative writing style, vivid scene descriptions and character-building are engaging and as always she's included many surprising twists and turns which will keep you on the edge of your seat. That coupled with the wonderful narration performed by Kelsey Osborne, who has narrated all of the books I have listened to by Anna Lowe and Chris Merlin really added to my enjoyment of this exciting and enthralling conclusion. Kelsey and Chris make a beautiful partnership and I look forward to hearing more of Anna's books done in this way.

The Lady and the Lion.
Tuck dreamed of being a Crusader Knight but alas he is the third son so it’s a Friar’s life for him.
Marian, on the run from Prince John takes refuge at the monastery where she accidentally meets Tuck in the Library after he sneaks in to retrieve something.
Marian double crossed, leaves with Tuck to visit Lord & Lady Winthorpe to try and rally the troops into stopping Prince John and rescuing the King, but is caught and blackmailed.
This story ties in nicely with first two books and rounds off the trilogy nicely.
This should come as no surprise but everyone gets their happily ever after but to see how they get there then listen to this story.

Friar Tuck and Maid Marian as you’ve never seen...
Friar Tuck and Maid Marian as you’ve never seen them before
Tempting the Maiden is the last book in the Sherwood Forest Shifters series. A third son, lion shifter Friar Tuck sees no other choice than taking his vows of poverty, obedience and chastity, even though he doesn’t belong at the monastery. Marian is a rare shifter (no spoilers here!) and she’s trying to outsmart Prince John. When Marian is double-crossed, she (reluctantly) teams up with Tuck. Read or listen to this book to find out how they (along with the other characters introduced in this series) defeat Prince John. All of the loose ends are tied up with a neat bow in this book, with Robynne and Daniel (from book 1) also getting their HEA.
Overall it was an enjoyable listen. There is the danger, excitement and steam that are always present in Anna Lowe’s books. The narration by Kelsey Osborne was amazing as always, and the addition of Chris Merlin works very well. Highly recommended.
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, and I'm leaving a voluntary review.

Fantastic but gutted it’s finished
Last book in this fantastic series and Anna Lowe does an amazing job bringing Robin Hood to Life but giving it a fantastic twist that gives it new life. Absolutely love the narrator as always Kelsey Osborne is amazing but love the new introduction of a male narrator Chris Merlin hopefully more to come.
Would have loved it as a duet but both did an amazing job.

Arts and the cloth.
First off, it's friar Tucks story. Need I say more, my absolute favourite Robin Hood character. Everything about this book was fantastic, the loveable Tuck and his quirky humour wasn't over done. The description of him in this book fits with his shifter side, his backstory was interesting and a little sad. Marian was a great pairing for him, she's a unique character in this series. Finally seeing things from her perspective was enjoyable, her secret really threw me off. Anna Lowe always delivers a compelling series, and this one is my new favourite. The only downside is that this was the last book in the series, I really wanted more. Robert for example and King Richard. Maybe a spin off series down the line, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
