About this listen

A murder in plain sight. A suspect clear as knight. Can this psychic sleuth unhorse the true villain?

Mitzy Moon is no fan of the Renaissance Faire. But her interest is suddenly piqued when a jousting exhibition turns deadly. Following a clue from her magicked mood ring, she’s ready to take up the sword and fight for the realm.

Refusing to heed the handsome sheriff’s warnings, Mitzy dons a wench’s wardrobe and dives into the case. But she’ll need the help of her meddling Ghost-ma and spoiled feline to root out the canker. With doxies, scoundrels, and panderers aplenty, it won’t be easy to ferret out the truth!

Can Mitzy serve up the knave on a pike, or will she find herself on the wrong end of the lance?

Swords and Fallen Lords is the seventh book in the hilarious paranormal cozy mystery series Mitzy Moon Mysteries. If you like snarky heroines, supernatural intrigue, and a dash of romance, then you’ll love Trixie Silvertale’s twisty caper.

The pen is mighter than the sword

The pen is mighter than the sword, well it is when it's a good book and that is exactly what this Mitzy Moon mystery is. I loved it.
This is book seven in what is quickly turning into a must read or listen to series. Don't worry if you have only just joined the series because the author gives you enough background information on the characters, that it is easy to pick what is going on and enjoy the fun. The mystery was interesting and I liked the unusual setting for the murder to take place, it was easy to imagine as the author weaves a clever and colourful plot. But it was the characters that I really like in this series. Mitzy is such a great main character and is willing to do anything to catch a killer. The addition of Ghost-ma and the cat add a fun humours side to the story, as Mitzy tries to keep her abilities a secret from her boyfriend. I can't wait for the next book.
Mitzy never thought attending a renaissance faire could be so entertaining but she is soon swept up in her boyfriends enthusiasm. That is until a jousting match turns deadly and one of the knights is killed. While her boyfriend is busy questioning the squires and hoping to make an arrest, Mitzy is granted an audience with the queen and is hired on as staff. With her undercover job can Mitzy find some vital evidence that will point them at the killer? She soon learns that the sword is no ordinary sword and with it's checkered past, could it be worth killing over?
I really like the narrator. She uses her voice well to make the story exciting and entertaining.

Murder at the Ren Faire; what a wonderful book!

As always it took me no time at all to feel completely immersed in the story. And I was riveted the whole way through! The kind of story that leaves you in a daze after it ends. The kind of story where you get to fully escape to another world, this time a world of knights and swords. The renaissance faire.

This is a unique series that has its own personality, which sets it apart from other paracozies. It’s so well-written, with such a good flow and that one-more-chapter-ability.

Re-ow! Pyewacket can confirm.

Erick was quite heroic! Can’t tell you more, of course, just read it, or listen to it, and enjoy!

Fave quote:
“A crash from somewhere in the bookshop startles me out of my silent analysis of the facts. Erick is out of his chair in a flash and motions for me to keep quiet. “Stay here,” he whispers.
Has he met me?” Lol, so much humor coming from Mitzy, I laughed out loud!

The narrator is a pleasure to listen to.

So much fun!

I absolutely loved the setting of this cozy! The author is, by her own admission, an enthusiast of Renaissance Faire events, and the descriptions are spot on. The mystery itself is a little treat and the characters and situations are joy.
I found the repeating of the background of the MD a bit boring, but is understandable if targeted at new readers.
Marlo fails few times to switch voice from one characters to another, but her performance is always enjoyable regardless.
Highly recommended, Huzzah!!

Brilliant

This is the 7th installment for our heroine Mitzy Moon.

This time around she dresses up, ready to sell pickles, while all along solving a murder at the Renaissance Faire.

With all this happening, she still finds time to be romanced by Sheriff - Too Hot To Handle - Harper.

Another great romp by Trixie Silvertale. Its funny and has you falling in love with Grams and Pyewacket all over again.

I have listened to the Audible version. Coleen Marlo does an amazing job and really brings the characters to life. I can't wait for installment #8

Great fun story

Great fun story, Mitzy investigates a murder at a joust, Well written with the usual fun characters, an inventive murder, intelligent cat and ghost grandmother. Mitzy's relationship with the sheriff is moving forward and is more of a feature of this book. I love the asides, the dialogue and the location. Narration is again flawless giving the story life. I am loving these stories. I received a copy of the audiobook and am leaving a honest voluntary review.
