Surviving the Storms brings together incredible first-hand accounts of rescues carried out by the remarkable RNLI lifesavers.
In this collection of heart-wrenching and life-affirming missions, we hear blow-by-blow descriptions of some of the most dramatic rescues from the last twenty years. We experience these through the eyes of the lifesavers as they must make life-or-death decisions, face fierce conditions and tackle difficult and dangerous situations. But we also see the optimism, passion and courage that is crucial to a successful rescue, and experience the genuine joy felt by the volunteer crews and lifeguards in being a part of something so important.

Human spirit at its finest
If you want to know what bravery is- this is a great place to start. Some wonderfully written accounts of some scary and life threatening situations, told with humility and grace. Recommended to those who want to know how they could live meaningful lives

A brilliant account of saving lives at sea
A captivating book that I found a pleasure to listen to on Audible. The RNLI is dear to my heart and I enjoyed learning about the many rescues that were detailed within the book.

Gripping had me hooked on the edge of my seat
I absolutely loved this book. I visited RNLI shop a few weeks ago and nearly brought the physical copy. I was buzzing to see it was on audible. I started the book about a week ago. I was hooked and on the edge of my seat from start to finish! I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. RNLI are a huge part of my family and life. hearing the stories just move you in a way that is just unexplainable. it's so heartbreaking warming and just amazing. Thank you RNLI your amazing.
