About this listen
Shauna Vincent has just learned that the job she set her heart on has gone to a well-connected rival.
Devastated, she accepts an offer from an old family friend, and soon Shauna is deep in the French countryside with endless hours to explore the magical landscape around her. But can the charming Laurent de Chemignac, owner of the local chateau, help her untangle the secret that this little French castle amongst the vines might be hiding?

Mystery/historical w/ paranormal elements+romance
Summer in the vineyards is a more complex book than its title may lead you to believe. It may sound like it's going to be a contemporary romance. This is an interesting mystery book with historical fiction and includes fantastical and paranormal elements and some romance.
The first thing that had me intrigued was Shauna and Laurent's matching tattoos. They have never met and yet have this same unique tattoo which has a deeper meaning to it. There is a good cast of characters.
There is a link with and flashbacks to ww2 and the resistance fighters. This plays a large part of the book and it can be quite dark at times. Definitely different!
