Recognising what triggers you

The most helpful part of this book is to work out what triggers your overthinking and then learning to recognise when it’s happening. This above all else for me is a game changer. There are also three extra downloadable bonuses that come in an email when you order this which was a nice added feature.

No more negative self-talk

A fun and easy listen covering a lot of tips on how to let go of the negative stuff that tends to pile up and get you down. I enjoyed when he talks about forgiving yourself, looking forwards to the future and finding the right inspiration the most, even suggests the reasons to get a mentor or accountability partner to help give your life goals some clarity.

A tune up for my brain

My negative thinking usually spirals to a point where I feel like I can’t do anything right which ends up making me not even try. I running through make believe situations in my head and almost punishing myself for them even though they haven’t even happened!

This audio book has helped me a lot to gain a perspective when this starts to happen. I found that when it talks about how to fuel motivation, keeping your head in the game and how to deal with failures extremely helpful. From now on, whenever I feel like my brain needs a little tune up, I’m going to crack this tool kit out.

Become more productive

In business, learning to become more productive is always a massive goal of mine. I find that the clear and straight forward lessons flow from this author, giving a lot of value in improving focus, planning and achieving your goals, without the usual self-help guru ra-ra rubbish that I can’t stand.

Learn to Master Your Thoughts

“Stop Overthinking” provides a new and insightful approach to dealing with the hows and whys of overthinking, and then what to do about it. It helps you to understand what the common triggers that set you off are and offers techniques and training to help you break free from overthinking’s negative grip, which ultimately helps you to foster a more positive and less self destructive mindset. Right from the beginning, in the first chapters "The Science of Overthinking" and "First Steps to Decluttering Your Mind," it gives effective strategies. Another nice touch is that even though it is contains a lot of references to various studies, it’s not packed with a load of confusing scientific terms and the anecdotes and character references added an enjoyable and relatable touch to the methods.

So many straight forward life hacks

I liked this. Well put together and enjoyable vibe that covers a lot of subjects in a few hours. The emptying your ‘to dos’ out of your head before bed is a very simple concept, but my god I have slept so much better after doing it. There’s a lot of simple hacks like this for all kinds of aspects of clearing mental clutter out so that you can actually have some mental clarity and focus on either get things done when you need to.

The advice I needed to hear

I tend to over analyse things which usually makes me end up leaving things to the last minute and then second guess myself for days after which can be rather annoying. The guidance offered by Bailey is simple enough to be applied pretty much straight away. I like where it talks about decision making and clearing out the junk draw of your mind. Very enjoyable and instantly usable.

I Love this Guy

This is the third audiobook by this guy that I now have in my collection. I think that says a lot in itself. The writer has some serious wisdom when it comes to taming your hyperactive or overly pessimistic mind and self view. And the guidance that he gives to help you stop overthinking your relationships is pure genius my friend.

By the way, the audiobook comes with 3 extra downloads as a cherry on top. I have checked them out and they all work.

Don’t let comparison steal your joy

In a world of social media, filters and people posing with their fast cars and ripped onlyfans bodies, it can be tough not to look at yourself in the mirror and think “where the hell did I go wrong?”. This is a big source of my own insecurity, the feeling that I’m somehow not good enough. I’m not calling this book a magic wand, but it does feel like the next best thing. It faces quite a lot of this topic head on and talks it through with an almost fatherly wisdom that puts you at ease and even helps you crack the occasional smile about it.
