About this listen

It was a day like any other on the ranch.

Hard work and no play makes for a cranky cowboy. Needing a night out on the town left me sneaking in my father’s house like a teenage boy.

That was my first mistake of the day.

The second was playing hero to a damsel in distress that turned out to be no damsel at all but a sexy, snarky woman who took me by surprise.

How you ask?

I’d been a ladies man.

That is until I became a father.

My rebel days were gone. A 6-year-old sassy daughter changed all of that for me.

I didn’t need the complicated messy kind of love stuff. My hands were full.

A mission into town to handle a family issue would make my life more muddled.

The day I met the woman who would steal my heart.

A thief.

A woman on the run.

A woman with one too many secrets.

A woman who I had to save because if I didn’t, I feared she disappear and take two hearts with her.

I wasn’t prepared for the danger she was in and the decision I’d have to make.

She’d hate me for sure.

I definitely wasn’t prepared for her to leave.

Getting to know Bear!

I loved Coming Home, so when i heard Book 2 in this series was coming out, I was thrilled! And it stands up to all my expectations! Bear was the party boy until his girlfriend got pregnant. Now a single dad, helping run the ranch and his car shop, he doesn’t have time for a real relationship. Then why does he feel the need to help Nita? Nita is running from something and can’t stop. But there is something about Bear and his family that has her grounded. This slow burn couple had me rooting for them from their first meeting. But that’s not all! While telling us Bear’s story, Kelly Moore slips in points of view from other members of the Calhoun family. Clem, Boone, Ellie Wyatt and Chet all play an integral part in the book. We get history and shenanigans, family bickering and unity, small town politics, high tension, smoking passion and all around fun. I am loving this series. It’s intricate, intelligent and filled with all the emotional pull that sucks you in and keeps you invested. Bring on Ellie, I am ready!!

A new to me narrator, John-Michael Jalonen brings this gem to life. With a charming southern drawl, he gives Hear the charisma that made me fall for him. He has great pacing, adds the junior perfectly and glows between characters with ease. I enjoyed his performance.

Phenomenal storytelling!

Once again, I'm blown away by Kelly Moore; she is just phenomenal. Stolen Hearts is an absolutely fantastic and delightful addition to the Whiskey River Road series. I can't believe that it's possible but the second installment is just as good or maybe even better than the first. From the very beginning, right to the very last word, I was thoroughly captivated. The plot is cleverly composed and flows smoothly, and the story is beautifully written. The characters are authentic, relatable, and compelling. I adored Bear (Bradley) and Nita; their journey is packed with family, drama, intrigue, mystery, romance, and humor.

Narration by John-Michael Jalonen is spot on. It's my first listen by him, and I think he nailed it. The voices are perfect for the personalities, bringing the characters to life. This was very enjoyable, one I highly recommend! I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook, and my unbiased review is voluntarily given.

What kind of ending was that?!?

Not a standalone, must-read book 1 to understand what is going on as the story does not just revolve around Bear and Nita. Chapters are also from the rest of the family's POV. This book also doesn't really have an ending. Or at least not a HEA or HFN. I guess it will continue into the next book but again told while also Ellie's book???? I don't like this style. I don't mind an overarching story taking place over all the books but these seem to be written more like a tv series where all couple's relationships are taking place at the same time.

I think the description for this series should be updated to better reflect how the stories will be told. If I knew how things were going to go I might not have been so angry at the end. There weren't any hints while reading book 1.

Good narrator but I actually enjoyed the narrator for book 1 better. She seemed to better represent all the different characters better. Maybe duel narration would have been best?? Especially since the book had so many chapters from Clem's POV.

Cliffhanger on this one

If you cannot handle cliffhangers then wait for the next book in this series please!

Kelly is an amazing writer and this story is full of intrigue and family love. The Calhoun’s are an amazing family who stick together through everything.

Bear is a loveable big bear and he loves this girl who has brought them strife but knowing Kelly’s other books this will definitely have a HEA.

Enjoyed John’s reading of this book. Honestly was ready for the same narrator as book 1 but it was great hearing John on this story and I cannot wait for the next book!

I received this audiobook at my request and this is my my opinion of the audiobook!

You really need this series but if you don’t do well with cliffhangers wait for the next book!
