Summary
An ambitious exec and a reluctant rock star sizzle in this workplace romantic comedy about music’s redemptive power, hogging the bed, and finding love.
Bright and ambitious Marin Collins sees her new internship with a prestigious PR firm as a stepping stone to a much-needed permanent position. But her plans for career success are derailed when she’s assigned to go on the road with rock band Kings Quarters, hailed by Rolling Stone as the next big thing. To gain full-time employment, she’ll need to stick to her “no workplace romance” policy and resist the sexy and nerdy rock star on the tour bus.
Enter Brad Osterhauser, the reluctant guitarist who would rather be coding computer games than penning Grammy-nominated songs. While grateful for the band’s success, he’s trapped on tour out of loyalty to the brother and bandmate who helped him escape a depressing home life. His outlook about the current tour improves immensely when he’s smitten by the smart and stunning PR executive who joins the tour.
Traveling by bus, city to city, with a group of practical joking bandmates and a greedy manager, Marin and Brad forge a friendship and forbidden romance over a shared love of Seinfeld episodes, stolen moments, and Red Vines.
Will Marin and Brad’s secret passions destroy both their careers, or take desire to the ultimate encore?
If you love a slow burn romance with laugh-out-loud moments, forced proximity, and sizzling chemistry, scroll up now to buy the book.

Sexy, sweet rockstar romance
It’s been a while since I’ve listened to a rockstar romance, and honestly, I’ve just realised how much I’ve missed it. Brad Osterhauser appears to be the ultimate rock star, he’s perfect. Just one problem, being a rockstar was never his dream, it was his brothers, and Brad is such a nice guy, not wanting to burst his brother’s bubble. Marin Collins never wanted to work for a rock band, she was expecting her internship to land her in Seattle, but travelling with the rock band does have its perks, in the guise of sexy rocker Brad. Marin however has rules, the first one being, no relationships with work colleagues, ever! Brad however is determined to change her mind, any way he can. Wonderful characters and story, sexy and sweet (my first Lisa Becker read), and as always perfect narration from Sebastian York and Erin Mallon.

This book Starfished across my heart
Starfish was a wonderfully unique spin on the rock star romance! Marin is an independent USC Master's graduate interning for the summer at a prestigious PR firm. She is unexpectedly assigned to go on tour with the rock band Kings Quarters. Brad is the lead guitarist for Kings Quarters and my favorite kind of hero, a genuinely good man with a bit of a nerdy streak, including glasses and an obsession with coding.
I listened to the audiobook and Erin Mallon and Sebastian York were phenomenal! This was the first time I listened to a book where these two were paired together and as expected it was stellar!!
I did feel that there were some chapters that didn't add to the continuity of the plot, and without giving spoilers, there were some loose ends that I wished were tied up better at the end of the book. But overall I enjoyed every minute of this book and might even find a reread in my future.

Slow burn rocker romance
What a cute story. It's kind of a friends to lovers rocker romance. Marin is given a once in a lifetime opportunity to travel with a rock band. One of the rockers, Brad, and she have intense attraction but do they move forward with it or will Marin stop their attraction due to concerns with work? While there is steam, their banter and the way they are with each other is fantastic. I love how comfortable they are together because it feels like the relationship is truly growing organically. I like that Brad is a little geeky which amuses me and makes me like him even more. So, overall, the characters are great (I love Marin's best friend too, as well as members of the band, including Brad's brother.) It was a little slow and took a while to pick up though but that's why it's slow burn :D
I have the ebook but also I listened to the audiobook, which features Erin Mallon and Sebastian York, both of whom are on the top of the list of best narrators. What can I say- great pacing, fantastic control of their voices even when playing multiple characters, and great infusion of emotion. Definitely worth the read and the listen!

A star of a listen
If you like Rock stories then this one is fantastic. The author wrote a real detailed story full of frustration , attraction and love . It’s about learning to not let situations bring you down . Life has a way of guiding you to where your suppose to be . Love will always win
Heroine is Marin. Hero is Brad.
Brad is hating where life is taking him. He’s ready to leave the life that the band is taking him . The band is Kings Quarters . Brad would rather use his talents to develop Video Games .Marin is a PR lady she’s really happy about the opening she got until she finds out she needs to tour with the rock band , Kings Quarters.
Once Marin and Brad meet the love slowly develops . Grab this and see does Brad give up on leaving the band .
Sebastian York and Erin Mallon were great together. They brought this great story to life

Beautiful Story
This was a beautiful story. This is a classic not wanting to be like mother, but feeling like you are becoming her. This is the classic way of seen that you can't help who you fall in love with. Erin Mallon and Sebastian York are two narrators you can help listening to and enjoy every minute of it. This is a must listen to

Amazing Rock Star Romance
Starfish by Lisa Becker is a Rock Star Romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Erin Mallon and Sebastian York.
This is the second book of Lisa’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. You can’t help but fall in love with Marin and Brad. I cannot wait to get my hands on Dear Future Self that releases February 4, 2020.
Sebastian and Erin did an amazing job on the narration.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves Rock Star Romances, Contemporary Romance, Forbidden Romance, or Romantic Comedies. This book covers them all and it is absolutely amazing.

Starfish
This isn’t your typical rockstar romance. These two are so sweet together and the slow burn is fantastic to watch. I loved listening to this book!

Fun listen
A little light on what I would call a rockstar storyline, but a truly entertaining listen none the less. Little to no angst, fun, lots of good vibes among the characters and we find the answers for the strange name to the book. Erin & Sebastian did a wonderful job narrating these characters.
