Effective!
I've tried speed reading years ago and it didn't quite work for me. However, after listening to this book, there is far more to it than I realized. I never thought much about purpose, but this book points out the reasons we might wish to speed read and our purpose turns out to be quite significant. Overall, this is a great guide for training your brain and your eye. It has helped me to speed up my pace, and I wasn't even trying. This is a great guide for training yourself and allowing yourself to read more books in less time.

Rev Up Your Reading Rocket!
Among a sea of speed-reading guides, this one genuinely stands out, not by teaching you to skip but by soaking in every word faster. The blend of novel and tried-and-true techniques, all underpinned by research, felt like a refreshing upgrade to my reading arsenal. It's about speed, clarity, retention, and a deeper grasp of content. By the end, I was devouring pages at a pace I'd never imagined, all while retaining the essence of the text. This audiobook is the ticket for anyone looking to improve their reading habits without compromising comprehension.

Informative
This book explains how to develop the skills to speed read. It's important to determine your reason for reading a book. Then you want to preview the book to see what is in the book. It's interesting that you should read different types of books at different speeds (i.e., textbook vs novel). This book discusses how your eyes deliver information to your brain. There are techniques given to improve the speed at which you read. Overall, this is a great guide for learning how to absorb information quickly so you don't have to spend hours reading a book.

QUICKLY MASTER SPEED READING!
What truly distinguishes this book is its effectiveness. It's not your average speed-reading manual. With just a few adjustments to your reading habits, you can double or even triple your reading speed in minutes. Even more impressive is that this increase in rate doesn't come at the expense of comprehension. You'll learn to process and remember more information, making this book an invaluable resource for students preparing for tests and exams or professionals dealing with extensive reports and documents.

Very Helpful!
I found this audiobook helpful and gained much more value than expected!
I am an avid reader and would struggle to get through heavy non-fiction books and retain the information without repeating them. This process is very time-consuming, so I listened to this book. Kam has you covered when attempting to master the art of speed reading as he explains each technique thoroughly and in a way that you can understand and apply to your reading practice.
I particularly liked the chapters on the importance of previewing and using the spacing and chunking techniques. I have been using the spacing technique recently and have noticed my reading time increasing exponentially. This has led to me getting through many more books, and to my surprise, I recall and remember the information better than before. This could also be due to my application of the other methods in the book, such as reframing from subvocalization and fixation, as I am learning to limit these and seeing improvements.
Overall, great book!
